Have you ever wished to play music? Do you lovethe sound of the heavenly chimes? You can learnto play even if you cannot read music. It is fun andunder the direction of Connie and David you cancreate the beautiful music yourself.Connie will work with you one-on-one to get youstarted.The group practice is on Wednesdays at 10:00am inthe Activity Center. Fellow chimers are so devotedthey will testify to the fun and challenges theyovercame to be part of this unique group.Thelma has never played music before, but is oneof the best students. Please reach out to Connie orAnnie Laurie for more information.

Gordon P. And MitsyChances are good that if you live at
American House you are going toknow Gordon and Mitsy. They are afamiliar sight inside and outside asthey travel together on walks at leastthree times a day.
Gordon has had Mitsy since shewas eight weeks old.“It was love atfirst sight,” said Gordon who has hadher for almost twelve years. Gordonand Mitsy became companions a fewyears after he lost his wife of sixtyyears. He was lonely and wanted acompanion. He found the love anddevotion he was looking for in the littleChihuahua. Gordon never feels alonein his apartment and says that she isthe smartest dog he has ever known.

Fun in the Village
Mary and her daughter Julie get some “opossumtherapy” when an orphaned baby opossum made avisit on Tuesday.Springtime brings lots of babies and sometimes theyneed help. Wildlife rehabilitators have a license tocare for them until they can be released back intothe wild.Residents can learn lots of fun facts about nativewildlife when they join us for Nature on Tuesdays at3:30pm in the Village.Fun Fact about Opossums: they are the onlymarsupial found in North America. Marsupials aretypically carried and suckled in a pouch on themother’s belly.Did you know that opossums will eat ticks, killrattlesnakes and eat them without reaction tovenom, and very rarely get rabies?
So, if you are lucky enough to seean opossum while on a late day strolljust appreciate all the benefits havingthem around will provide and feelblessed they live near you.
