Beaver dams arean important part ofthe ecosystem,helping slowfloodwaters andcontrol erosion.

These semi-aquatic rodents moveeasily through thewater thanks to theirstiff, flat tails andwebbed feet.Their thick fur iswaterproof, and theycan hold their breathunderwater for up to15 minutes.

Beavers haveorange teeth thatnever stop growing.They eat bark, rootsand leaves fromaspen, willow andmaple trees, as wellas aquatic plants.

Write AwayFrom composing thank-you notes to

keeping a journal, the physical act ofwriting by hand is a great boost to thebrain. Take notes on these advantagesof putting pen to paper.
