Who says winter is over. I was doing some reading Friday eve-ning and just loved hearing the rain pitty-pattering on my

roof. I’m not sure when it changed to snow, but when I got up Saturday morning I was surprised to see a blanket of snow out on the yard. I thanked God again for the moisture and thanked Him also for shelter. How wonderful it is to have heat and protection from the cold. We prayed for moisture when we were together Wednesday evening. God indeed blessed our land. May we give him continual thanks and praise for all of these blessings. In our suggested Bible reading this week we were hearing Paul commend the Macedonian churches for their generous hearts. It strikes me every time I read this section of 2 Corinthians that the indication of these congregations is that they were not very well off money wise. Language is use of “extreme poverty.” That speaks volumes doesn’t it? What speaks even louder to me is their heart. Listen to 8:3, “For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own.” It really is amazing what we can afford when our hearts are involved. We seem to acquire what we really want. What do we really want? I do appreciate the heart of this congregation for you have been very generous with regard to special requests. May we see God’s rich blessing on others because of that generosity.

–Blessings, Gene

Welcome Jeff and Nancy Foster. Jeff is the minister in Gallup and is also going out to Kinlichee on Sun-day afternoons to preach and teach. We have helped a little with funds to help them in this work. They are here today to share with us more about this work and the need of this congregation. The church in Kinlichee was started in 1980 and has been important to the work on the Navajo Reservation as two of our long time and respected preachers wore converted and got their start in their Christian walk there. Philip James at Hogback is one of them. Edison Gruber over at Crownpoint is another. The church in Clarendon, Texas has taken on raising funds to repair and to build a new building that is much needed. They will still need help with furnishings. Jeff will let us know when some of the workdays will be. It would be wonderful if we could take a crew down there to help. The insert in the bulletin will give you more information about this work as well. Jeff will also be teaching our adult class in the Fellowship Hall today. He will share a lesson he did on the reservation talking about marriage.

Today during our Bible Class time Parents and teens are in-vited to meet in the auditorium for a planning session to talk about activities for the summer. Anyone interested in being part of this is welcome.
