About the Visiting Programs

Our Friendly Visiting Program and our Community Visitor Scheme program are volunteer based programs.

Our volunteers visit elderly people on a regular base. They offer their friendship and companionship and bring some quality time into our client’s lives.

The volunteer and the client may like to share activities such as: reading books and newspapers, go shopping, doing crafts or just sharing their life stories.

Who can get a visitor? » Friendly Visiting volunteers are visiting

socially isolated seniors and younger persons with disabilities from Polish and Eastern European backgrounds living in their own homes in Melbourne.

» Community Visitor Scheme volunteers are visiting socially isolated people from Polish and Eastern European backgrounds living in aged care facilities in Victoria.

How often are the visits? » Our Friendly Visiting volunteers visit our

clients once per week.

» Our Community Visitor Scheme volunteers visit our clients at least once per fortnight.

Costs? These services are free of charge.

We are always looking for volunteers! We welcome everyone over the age of 18 and we offer travel reimbursement as well as regular information sessions. Volunteering for AMCS means being part of a great team, sharing skills and making a positive difference to people’s live.
