Technology | Reliability | VersatilityThe AMC II™ is a clinically proven rotating platform knee system1

offering the surgeon complete flexibility through implant choice and

simple instrumentation.

With over ten years successful clinical use of advanced bearing

technologies, titanium nitride (TiN) ceramic and Biomimetic

Cementless Technology offer a low wear implant solution2,3,4 with

excellent early and long-term fixation4,5,6.

TiN: Optimising performanceIncorporating advanced technologies, the AMC II™ knee system has

been designed to provide improved function and longevity.

Titanium nitride (TiN) ceramic is an innovative surface coating

technology allowing patients to enjoy the benefits of a ceramic, low

wearing articulation whilst maintaining the strength and flexibility of

their metal implant2,3,7,8. The coating has been proven to reduce wear

by 98%2.

The ceramicised outer layers minimise exposure of the patient’s joint

space to metal ions, therefore reducing the risk of metal allergies7,8,9,10.

Biomimetic Cementless TechnologyBridging the gap

AMC II™ uses advanced Biomimetic Cementless Technology to achieve

bone-implant fixation11,12,13,14. This calcium phosphate (CaP) coating

constitutes a microcrystalline structure which maintains substrate surface

roughness providing a large area for bone integration15,16. Its biphasic

composition enhances short and long-term osseointegration while the bone-

like (biomimetic) coating morphology provides a potent capillary effect on

blood, accelerating the implant healing process1,4,5,6,11,12,16,17,18.

ReliabilityA highly congruent, rotating platform knee system, the AMC II™

allows for reduced contact stresses and low wear whilst maintaining

joint stability throughout range of motion19,20. A simple, gap balancing

instrumentation philosophy ensures reliable bone cuts and, together

with an anti-lift off feature incorporated into the tibial tray design,

minimises the risk of bearing dislocation21.

VersatilityAvailable in both primary and semi-constrained versions, the

AMC II™ knee system provides the surgeon with intra-operative

choice. A single step is required to modify a primary to a semi-

constrained implant option with minimal bone resection.
