- The Amazons are a civilization of warrior women who came from Greek mythology. - There were several queens, such as Pentesilea and her little sister Hipolita.
- Pentesilea is well known because she fought in the Trojan War.
- The father of Pentesilea and Hipolta was Ares, the god of war, and their mother was Otrea, who was also an Amazon queen.
- They lived near the Amazon River.
- They didn’t want men in their life.
- Once a year, they visited close men tribes to relate and have children.
- If their children were boys, they would kill them or they would return them to their parents.
- The Amazons dressed in handmade clothes made with animal skins and sometimes with skirts with leaves.
- The Amazons fought with bows and spears; they were great at riding horses. - They were outstanding with spears. They won many battles with their talent for fighting.
