RNPW President

Tis’ the time of year for ‘New Year’s Resolutions!’

1. Balance work and family 2. Lower stress level 3. Take time for myself 4. Exercise more

Are some or all of these on your list? Do you make resolutions and are lucky to keep them through January? Or do you not even bother to take the time to reflect on how your life could be better?

I tend to be in the last category. It seems hard to even find the time to think about how some changes could make my life healthier and happier. Soooo, this year I am turning over a new leaf! I have been thinking of realistic resolutions that would do just those things – make me healthier and happier. Realistic – so I can keep them. Here goes:

1. Work out at the Y a minimum of 3x a week.

2. Plan dinner menus for the week before I go to the grocery store.

3. Take time to spend at least ½ hour each week with a friend.

4. Don’t beat myself up if I do not do each of these every week BUT resolve to do them the following week.

I encourage you to join me and resolve to take better care of yourself but let’s also care for our community. Join me Monday, January 19 for Women as Agents of Change – Aligning & Transforming for updates on Alignment Rockford and Transform Rockford. Balancing all this, we can do it! We are women of Rockford Network! We are Agents of Change!

As amazing things happen to our community in 2015, let each of us contribute to OURSELVES – an amazing person! Happy New Year!

New in 2015!I think we’ve all met someone and after walking away, thought

“shoot, what was her name?”! Starting in January, RNPW will have professional name tags for each member. Pick-up your new name tag from Mariah at registration and return it after lunch. We will bring them to each meeting, so you don’t have to worry about not catching that persons name. Also, no more sticky nametags!

RVC Enactus Sponsors 2nd Women’s Shark Tank

Weather Cancellation ProcedureSince we were forced to cancel one of our meetings last

winter, the Board has approved the following Cancellation Policy:

On a meeting day when Rockford Public Schools close because of snow (not cold), RNPW will cancel their meeting.

• An e-blast will go out to the newsletter mailing list, under the direction of the President. Announcements will also be made via our website, voice message at the RNPW phone number, and social media.

• The speaker for that meeting will be contacted as soon as possible by the Program Chair, or by the individual who made the contact with the speaker.

• Our venue, Forest Hills Country Club, will be immediately notified by the Reservation Chair or President.

• Our Public Relations chair will notify all local TV and radio stations with a public service announcement.

Holiday party at Midway Village Catered by ABC, was a

smaller but very lively group with about 35 in attendance. To see photos of the event, go to www.rockfordnetwork.org/gallery.

We had jazz Christmas music courtesy of Dianna and Carl Cole along with student/trumpet player Joe Barrin, first chair at Lutheran. They volunteered their services so we promoted their cds that were for sale for $10, a Christmas cd as well as a jazz cd. www.soundsofgoodnews.com.

There was a very entertaining volunteer, Sharon from Midway Village, that gave tours of the museum and Darlene Riddle collected the donations for Mother House (her vehicle was stuffed!).
