Amanda Schafner was born and raised in Gadsden, Ala. She graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Marketing. She then pursued her Juris Doctor degree from the Birmingham School of Law and graduated with honors in December 2013.
Mrs. Schafner is licensed to practice in Alabama and primarily focuses her area of practice on nursing home abuse and neglect. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Schafner worked in the Social Security Department of Burke Harvey as a legal assistant.
Her professional associations include the Alabama State Bar Association, the Young Lawyers Section of the Alabama State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association, the Young Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
She is married to Kenneth Wesley and the couple attends Church of the Highlands. She enjoys kayaking, camping, hiking and fishing, as well as flipping vintage cars. She volunteers with Little River Trust, an organization that conserves land around Little River Canyon.
