Librarian/Superhero
Where I was
born and
raised…
In the summer of 2007, I
received a scholarship to
study abroad in London. I
studied Shakespeare and
theater.
The goal was to
provide them with
the skills to
eventually enter
and graduate
college.
I worked for AVID, a
program where I
tutored/mentored at-
risk youths in all
subjects including math,
science, reading, study
skills & leadership skills
Many are successful, hard-
working college students now
and have told me that they
contribute the program for
their determination.
Success! Mentorship works!
I have been both a mentor
and a mentee. I have known
my mentor since I was in
the 6th grade! (That’s
nearly 20 years!)
From 2009-
2011, I
volunteered in
libraries…
At a university library…(UTEP)
At a special library…(Holocaust Museum)
At a public library…(El Paso Public)
At a community college…(EPCC)
Then I earned
my MLS degree
I found my 1st library job
working under a short-
term contract with the
United States Army
Sergeant Major Academy
as a Digital Librarian.
I became the
Collection
Development
Librarian at Sul Ross
State University in
2012.
