Animal Cells
Mitochondria- sugars break apart as they react with oxygen. Also in plant cells.
Nucleus- directs the activities of the cell. Also in plant cells. Cell membrane- thin, flexible covering that surrounds all types of cells. Lysosome- small ball shaped organelles that help the cell break down
nutrients and old cell parts. Also un plant cells Golgi apparatus- receives proteins, then processes them for shipment
outside the cell. Also in plant cells. Vacuoles- stores food, water, and other substances. Also in plant cells. Ribosome- assemble compounds Cytoplasm- all the remaining organelles are located within the
cytoplasm. Also in plant cell. Endoplasmic reticulum- creates passages for materials to pass. Also in
plant cells.
Plant Cells
Nucleus- directs the activities of the cell. Also in animal cells Cell wall- rigid outer layer that surrounds the cell. Plant cells
only Chloroplasts- pigment that absorbs sunlight. Plant cells only Endoplasmic reticulum- creates passages for materials to pass.
