We offer a range of ‘Working at Height’ safety courses through our Academy, ensuring we not only sell safe products, but also instruct operatives how to use them safely.

Wherever your business is located, let us deliver a service on your doorstep. In addition to courses at our Cardiff Academy, we offer the convenience of a national service for courses held on customers’ sites. Almost all courses can be delivered at clients’ own premises and we also have a calendar of open courses that can be individually booked.

Most of our courses are certified by nationally recognised bodies, such as The Ladder Association, PASMA and St John’s Ambulance. Where no nationally recognised body exists, we develop and certify our own selection of courses.

WORKING AT HEIGHT TRAINING ACADEMY & SCAFFOLD TOWERS

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

†Working height is calculated as 1,600mm plus the height of the platform or last climbing tread, whichever is appropriate.

2Can be used as a free standing tower with a platform height of up to 8m (26ft) outdoors or 12m (39ft) indoors. To go beyond these limits the structure must be tied off according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Frame Access Tower (Contractor 232)Frame access towers enable faster, easier to build scaffold towers. The user climbs the rungs (232mm rung spacing) from the inside of the frame removing the need for separate ladder frames. The symmetrical frame design means the frame can be used at either end and helps improve the time it takes to erect or dismantle this tower.

Available in both 3T & AGR build methods.

Narrow rungs remove the need for a separate ladder frame.Narrow rungs also enable more flexibility of platform heights.

Vertical Ladder TowerScaffold tower design with a ladder frame built into one side of the tower. Care must be taken to ensure that ladder sections line up correctly before the user can begin to climb.

Available in both 3T & AGR build methods.

Advanced Guard Rail (AGR)Advanced Guard Rail or AGR was developed to improve safety while speeding up the scaffold tower build. The AGR frame forms the guard rail and brace bars in one single frame. Not only does it enable much quicker build times over the 3T method, but the unique tamper-proof design of the frame ensures it cannot be tampered with as each section is fitted from the inside of the tower making it impossible to remove when the platforms are in place. See inset image below.

TYPES OF TOWER BUILD METHODS


Through The Trap (3T)“Through The Trap” or 3T is the second method of scaffold tower construction. The user builds the framework of the first layer and positions the end frames and platform boards. Once the boards are in place, the user climbs up through the trap door and sits within the trapdoor aperture while fitting the guardrails. This ensures that collective fall-protection is installed without the user having to stand on the work platform. The user repeats this process until the desired platform height is reached.

CenterFold TowerThe industrial CenterFold is a heavy-duty tower complete with guardrail. It’s portable and fits through standard doorways and the captive folding brace mechanism helps minimise components. Light-Duty TowerThe Light-Duty tower is a strong but lightweight aluminium scaffold tower ideal for jobs around your home or garden. Perfect for jobs that need you to work at height, especially where the jobs require both hands like painting or replacing guttering. Easy to erect and simple to move around, just tilt it back and push around on its wheels. Easily store in your garage or shed when not in use.
