Allow me to introduce myself in this, my first editorial: my name is Olaf Freier and I am the new Event Director of ALUMINIUM. I took over the reins from Michael Köhler back on August 1, who will henceforth be taking care of Reed Exhibitions‘ industry trade fairs in the United States.
I am delighted to be part of ALUMINIUM, one of the most successful industrial fairs to have been launched in the last few decades. Aluminium is currently the metal with the strongest demand and growth. ALUMINIUM in Düsseldorf reflects this development. Representing a dynamic growth factor for the entire industry, it has long served as the template for our other aluminium fairs around the globe: in Shanghai, Mumbai, Dubai and São Paolo – and in a few weeks also in Detroit, where our sixth trade fair will launch at the beginning of November in the form of ALUMINUM USA.
ALUMINIUM is a successful trade fair concept that works. One of my top priorities now is to continue to consolidate ALUMINIUM as a global brand and as the number one market place for the industry. The global ALUMINIUM community has grown rapidly in recent years: nearly 2,000 companies currently exhibit at the six events, and we now have 100 Global Partner companies at our trade fairs around the globe.

The Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie e.V., Düsseldorf, (GDA) is holding the European Aluminium Congress 2015 on 23 and 24 November 2015 in Düsseldorf on the subject of ”Aluminium – building the Future“. The EAC 2015 is organised within the “D-A-CH, Allianz für Aluminium” in cooperation with the Swiss aluminium association “alu.ch” and the Austrian Non-Ferrous Metals Federation.
Over two days the EAC congress ”Aluminium – building the Future“ will look at the key factors for the future success of the entire aluminium added value chain. The EAC 2015 will enhance awareness for the future. Anyone who makes decisions for today, tomorrow and the time after that should

ALUMINUM USA 201511 – 12 November 2015, Detroit
Premiere with more than 170 companies More than 170 exhibitors from 20 nations will be participating in the premiere of ALUMINUM USA, which will take place in Detroit on 11 and 12 November. With this new trade show, the world’s third-largest aluminum market will get its very own industry meeting place. A glance at the list of exhibitors indicates just how interested the industry is in the event. besides key US players such as Aleris, Almex, bloom Engineering, Granco Clark and Wagstaff, numerous companies from Canada, Europe and Asia will exhibit in Detroit, including UACJ from Japan, SMS from Germany, Danieli & C. Automotive Lightweight Procurement SymposiumKicking off the first ALUMINUM USA will be the North America Automotive Lightweight Procurement Symposium 2015, which will take place in Detroit from 9 to 11 November.
