Bharati Vidyapeeth(Deemed) University

26th April, 1996 was a moment of crowning glory for Bharati

Vidyapeeth as well as, for Dr. Patangrao Kadam. The day on

which, the government of India on the recommendation of

the University Grants Commission granted the status of

University to a group of 12 institutions of Bharati Vidyapeeth,

located in Pune, in appreciation of their academic excellence

and potential for further growth vide its notification No. E-9-

15/95-U.3 dated 26/4/96 under the section 3 of the University

Grant Commission Act of 1956.

Bharati Vidyapeeth University has got 'A' grade status by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD),

Government of India. Addedly it has also been reaccredited to grade 'A' by National Assessment and Accreditation

Council (NAAC).

Thus, Bharati Vidyapeeth University is now an amalgam of 29 constituent units. Such a large number of constituent units

transform it into, arguably, the largest multi-disciplinary multi-campus University in the country established under section 3

of UGG act 1956.

The degrees and Diplomas offered by Bharati Vidyapeeth are on par in status and validity with the ones conferred by any

statutory university. This is in keeping with its ‘University Status’ to the Cluster of Institutions within the ambit of Bharati

Vidyapeeth ratified by the Govt. of India on the recommendation of UGC and AICTE. Moreover, its professional education

college such as Engineering College, Medical College, Dental College and others enjoy the ratification of the respective

statutory council like AICTE, Medical Council of India etc. besides they have been accorded due recognition by the State and

Central Government.

Bharati Vidyapeeth

Bharati Vidyapeeth, the parent body of Bharati Vidyapeeth University was established on

10th May 1964 by Dr. Patangrao Kadam with the objective of bringing about intellectual

awakening and all round development of the people of our country through education.

The sole objective of the establishment was a yearning to usher in an era of intellectual

awakening and complete development of the country through the medium of

education.

Despite a relatively short time span of 47 years. Bharati Vidayapeeth is counted among

the top most educational institutions in the country. Over the years, it has developed 160

educational institutions that impart education from pre-primary to Ph.D. The diversity is also reflected in the courses offered

that range across vast and diverse disciplines like Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurved, Homoeopathy, Nursing, Arts, Science,

Commerce, Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Social Sciences, Law, Environmental Science. Architecture, Hotel

Management & Catering Technology, Physical Education, Computer Science, Library Science, Information Technology,

Biotechnology and Agriculture.

All these institutions have earned critical acclaim for their excellence in every field they have branched into. They cater to the

educational needs of thousands of students from across the nation and the globe. They are aided in their educational journeys

by a highly competent, qualified, experienced and empathic faculty. These educational institutions are located at various

places viz. Pune, Navi Mumbai, Kolhapur, Solapur, Sangli, Karad, Panchagani, Jawhar and New Delhi. The credit for the

spectacular success of Bharati Vidyapeeth is owed largely to the exceptionally visionary insight and vibrant guidance of our

Chancellor and founder Dr. Patangrao Kadam.
