Alumni give generously

(( Contributions to the Alumni Associa-tion since last October 1 have totalled $14,801.

This amount includes $898 given by the Class of 1948 which held a late fall reunion .

The list of contributors from the Class of 1978 was inadvertently omitted from the list in the fall newsletter. Those contributors are listed below with our apologies.

a major source

of funds The Salem High School Alumni

Association is fortunate to have one of the largest and best schol­arship programs of any school its size in the nation. The success of the program depends, in large part, on the contributions from SHS alumni.

A major source of scholarship funds has been charitable be­quests made from alumni and other SHS supporters through their last will and testament.

Such a bequest, which takes effect at death, may be made in an unlimited amount and is en­tirely free from estate tax liability. When making a revision of your will, you may wish to remember the SHS scholarship program with such a tax deductible charitable bequest.

Of course, a charitable dona­tion made to the SHS scholarship program during your lifetime may entitle you to a current income tax deduction.

Contributions in any amount are welcomed any time, and are vital to the continued success of the program. Gifts or bequests should be made to The Scholar­ship Committee Inc. of the Salem High School Alumni Association, or SHSAASC.
