DESIGN STATEMENT

A. Introduction

(i) This document describes the design approach and specifications for the project.

(ii) The design calculation herein specified includes:

- Structural analysis of balustrade members, fixing and footings:

1. Posts - SHS65x2.5 mm, maximum distances 1.2 m, maximum height 1.3 m

2. Handrails - SHS40x2 mm, top and bottom rails

3. Balusters (pickets) - SHS 19.05x1.6 mm at 115 mm crs. Maximum length 1120 mm

Pickets shall be welded to the rails with FW 2 mm, in two lengths of 19 mm

on inner and outer side of barrier

4. Post connection to timber post/base (timber strength EXLCUDED)

(iii) Unit and language used shall be :-
