The Examiner will play all ear tests twice (a) to reproduce by clapping a simple two-bar phrase played by the examiner which uses quavers, crotchets and minims only (b) to state which of the two notes is higher or lower in pitch, the range will be within an octave (c) to sing any one note correctly in tune after it has been played by the examiner (d) to recognise a chordal passage played by the examiner as major or minor.
