This is when a company does not have a conglomerate link, they work independently in order to market their product.

E.g. 1st Sight Films - have used convergent marketing as he’s promoted his films through film festivals. However, Playne has also used technical convergence as he’s shown his film online and advertised on social network sites (multi-media convergence). He tries to create a ‘buzz’ about his work.

Warp – they have used online downloads through their website in order to market their work

FILM FESTIVALS

Many unknown directors and producers attend film festivals, for example Cannes film festival and Sundance film festival, to get their films well known, An example of this would be 1st sight films, Mark Playne has visited many festivals to advertise his film, ‘Love at first sight’. So far his films have yet to have been picked up by a major producer, however he has won many accolades for the film, such as

Film festivals are a great way to get your films publicised and marketed., as a wide range of people are able to see them.
