TRANSCRIPT
Biomass
• Biomass energy is organic matter that can be burned or decomposed to be used a source of energy.
Geothermal Energy
• Geothermal energy is created by harnessing geothermal energy from the Geothermal literally means "earth heat." Geothermal energy harnesses the heat energy present underneath the Earth. Hot rocks under the ground heat water to produce steam. When holes are drilled in the region, the steam that shoots up is purified and is used to drive turbines, which power electric generators.
Wave Power• Wave energy is produced when electricity generators
are placed on the surface of the ocean. The energy provided is most often used in desalination plants, power plants and water pumps. Energy output is determined by wave height, wave speed, wavelength, and water density.
Tidal Power• Tidal energy is produced through the use of tidal energy
generators. These large underwater turbines are placed in areas with high tidal movements, and are designed to capture the kinetic motion of the ebbing and surging of ocean tides in order to produce electricity.
Hydrokinetic
• Hydrokinetic energy — which generates power by using submerged or partially submerged turbines that harness the energy from flowing water. Rivers and ocean currents.
