ALTERNATE AND ONLINE

LEARNING PROGRAMS

Page 2: Alternate And Online Learning Programs

Why Alternative Education Programs?

• Alternative education programs are developed because traditional or regular schools do not and cannot meet the needs of all students.

• Educators have offered opposing views reflecting the reasons and purposes for alternative education. At times, the students are identified as the problems leading to the unsuccessful process. At other times, the school institutions are blamed. The Alternate programs emphasis is not on fixing the student or correcting the home schools, but on providing alternatives to failure, frustration, lack of connection, and blame.

• By transforming the Alternate programs’ organization, instruction, and environment, student response, performance, feelings of self worth and achievement can be transformed.
