THE NAVIGATOR Wednesday May 27, 2015 A few weeks ago, in this space, I made an observation regarding the seemingly weak roots of the big tree that fell on our church’s west yard. Looking at the exposed root ball, it certainly appears the root system was not well developed. But now we’ve discovered even more about the fallen tree. Our congregation’s Boy Scout Troop spent the better part of a recent Saturday cleaning up much of the wood and debris. As they sawed the long trunk into manageable pieces they discovered that a sizable hole runs the full extent of the height of the tree; that’s right, what appeared to be a perfectly normal tree was actually, on its inside, hollow. I can’t imagine that helped the tree’s health and vitality. And so another parable arises from the fall of a single tree. What’s on the inside of each of us? How is it with our souls? Are we vigorous and healthy outside, strong and vital by all appearance, but at our core empty, hollow? Tough questions, yes. But good ones. Wednesday May 27, 2015 A few weeks ago, in this space, I made an observation regarding the seemingly weak roots of the big tree that fell on our church’s west yard. YOUTH NEWS JASON WEEMS BELIEVING, LIVING OPENLY FOR GOD

May 25th, 2015 SKY ZONE/ DAVE AND BUSTERS.... PLANNING IT "ONE" DAY

DURING THE WEEK OF JUNE 8-12th IF YOU ARE FREE TO CHAPERONE THIS EVENT PLEASE,

PLEASE LET ME KNOW

Summer is here!!!! Summer is to me; splashing in the pool, sand at the beach, catching fire flies at dusk, sleeping late,

floating the river, no schedule, homemade ice-cream, flowers blooming, GREEN everywhere you turn, just good ol' happy days of joy. I think that the peace and joy of knowing

God is like the images played in my head of summer. The best part is though, with God the joy never ends, just like days of rain in the summer the joy of summer is still

there, the sun will shine and the splashing and firefly catching will resume. The rain is what cools it off, what

greens up the grass and what makes dancing in the rain so fun. This summer each time you say, "man that was fun, let’s

do it again" stop and thank the God of heaven for allowing you to know joy, to know fun and to have a life that is filled

with hope of a future joy that will make all this seem so understated, but when the rains come in life remember they have a place too in the great joy of peace God gives us. They

give us time to slow down and reflect, time to sit still, and best of all, time to dance in the rain.. HOW FUN IS THAT!!

Enjoy every moment God gives you, and thank HIM millions of times a day to be alive and making those memories,

jason
