Day 1 – Depart Toronto Fly to Cairo from Toronto.

Day 2 – Arrival in Cairo (D)Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be met by your local guide in the arrivals area holding a name-board. After a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and some time at your leisure. This afternoon, meet your guide and depart on a guided tour to the Museum of Antiquities. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner of Egyptian cuisine. Stay at the Intercontinental Semiramis Hotel for three nights.

Day 3 – Cairo (B)Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then meet your local guide in the hotel lobby for your full day tour exploring desert antiquities dating from the beginnings of a civilization that arose more than 5,000 years ago. In the company of our Egyptol-ogist specialist guide, we venture through the countryside to visit some of Egypt's oldest sights. We first go to the Pyramids of Giza, followed by a visit to the colossal statue of the Great Sphinx, which has stood guard over the pyramids for more than 4,500 years. Later, we go to Memphis, where remnants of the nation's first capital and once the most cosmopolitan city in Egypt now lie scattered in the desert. We’ll also see the carved limestone

Colossus of Ramses II, and then nearby we visit the necropolis at Saqqara, where King Zoser's Step Pyramid was "built to last 'til the ends of time".

Day 4 – Cairo (B)Today, enjoy a city tour and stroll through a bustling bazaar. Visit the Citadel which commands a complete view of the city. Completed in 1183, the Citadel was surrounded by sturdy walls and towers to withstand attacks from Christian crusaders. Inside, we shall see the lavishly decorated alabaster mosque of Mo-hammed Ali. We move on to explore the lanes of Old Cairo and to visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue dating from the 9th century. We will also visit the 4th century Hanging Church built on the bastions of the ancient Roman wall and “suspended” above the level of the Nile. Then take a walk through Khan El Khalili, a bustling warren of shops where you can bargain for rugs, copper and leather crafts, perfumes, and other goods both exotic and familiar.

Day 5 – Cairo / Luxor / Nile River Cruise (B/L/D)After breakfast, meet your local guide and then head to the airport for your flight to Luxor. On arrival, meet and then transfer to your cruise ship to board your four night cruise on the Nile River. Enjoy lunch on board and then visit the East Bank – Karnak & Luxor Temples. Enjoy some afternoon tea and dinner on board. Stay four nights on the Sonesta Nile Goddess Cruise Ship – 5-star.

Day 6 – Nile River Cruise (B/L/D)Visit the West Bank and see the Valley of Kings, Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari and the colossi Memnon. Continue sailing to Esna and enjoy lunch on board. Have a captains’ welcome cocktail, and this evening relax at your leisure.

Day 7 – Nile River Cruise (B/L/D)Sail to Edfu in the early morning. Visit the Horus Temple in Edfu before continuing on to Kom Ombo. Have lunch on board and then visit the Temple shared by two gods Sobek & Haeroris. This evening, enjoy an Egyptian Galabya Party on board.

Day 8 – Nile River Cruise / Aswan (B/L/D)Sail onward to Aswan and then visit the High Dam, the Philae Temple and the Granite Quarries. Later, sail on the Nile by Felucca and visit the botanical gardens of Aswan. Enjoy afternoon tea and then have dinner on board.

Day 9 – Nile River Cruise / Aswan / Abu Simbel / Cairo (B)Enjoy breakfast on board and then disembark where you will be met and then transferred to the Aswan airport to board your flight to Cairo. (OPTIONAL) – Fly to Abu Simbel and explore the temples which are among the most spectacular monuments in the world before flying back to Cairo. Upon your arrival in Cairo, meet and transfer to your hotel for check-in, and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. In the late evening, you will be met and driven to the airport for your departure flight in the early morning of day 10. Stay at the Intercontinental Semiramis Hotel.
