Executive Committee meets

The Alpha Alpha Executive Board met at President Pam Eberhardt’s home in September to review the program schedule and discuss initiatives for the coming year. Shown are Monica Cosgrove, Annie Tran Flesch, Gretchen Hughes, Pam Eberhardt, and Mary Ann Geonie. Also there but not pictured were Betsy Balzano, Elaine Leshnower and Donna Noble.

From our President Dear Alpha Alpha Members, It was great to see so many of you, your family and friends Friday evening at Mayer’s Winery. The musical duo, ‘Schmitt Happens’ was very entertaining and made for a fun time. The silent auction included many contributions from businesses in the Brockport area along with members and our own Judy Fuller’s store Simply New York. The entire event drew participants from outside our Chapter and there are now folks who know about the over-riding purpose of Alpha Alpha Chapter, DKG who would not have known otherwise. It was nice to educate some of the public! Our next meeting will be at Brook-Lea Country Club where Laura Delahanty and some of her students will share information and experiences about the Teaching & Learning Institute at East High School. Many of our Award winners have graduated from this Rochester City School District program. Hope to see you October 22. Remember, dues are due. We need to help Annie send our chapter dues in on time. Some of the benefits of membership include scholarships (towards master and doctorate degrees), funding for special projects and also travel stipends. The Pi State and DKG websites offer new and updated information for members. Fall is well under way – teachers are back in their classrooms, students are now in the swing of school, flowers are changing, leaves are falling and the temperature is dropping. It is a time of beginning in the world of education and I hope this new year is full of excitement, new ideas and lots of learning for everyone! Pam
