WHY ALMONDS
Approximately 80% of the world’s almonds are produced from plantings in California.
100% of the U.S. commercial supply of almonds is grown in California.
The Contour Foods almond orchards are located in Stanislaus County, California, in a region referred to as the almond capital of the world.
The USDA forecasts that global almond exports will continue its upward trajectory, increasing approximately 5% in 2015.
With demand outpacing the development of new orchards, the long-range price of almonds likely will continue to rise.

Ten wells situated beneath the two orchard properties are currently drawing water from an aquifer. The aquifer has retreated only several inches during the past 40 years.
