llison Carr Waechter an introduc+on A
Hi,
I’m Allison
‘m a Colorado girl, at heart. I
I’m from Parker, Colorado and I went to Ponderosa High School. Go ‘Stangs!
I’ve spent most of my adult life at CU. I have two degrees from both CU Denver and Boulder and I’ve taught for CU since 2009. I’ve been doing one thing or another at CU for 14 years. I met my husband at CU aMer he got out of the Army and he graduated from Leeds almost 6 years ago… so we’re a CU family. Go Buffs!
nd because of the great educa+on he got at CU, he was Pepsi’s top candidate for the management trainee program five years ago. His degree is in Opera+ons and Informa+on Management and he works at a produc+on facility as Quality Control Manager….

In St. Louis, Missouri
Sure, I miss Colorado. Who wouldn’t?
But I love my family more than anything in the world! And I would go anywhere to be together. (from the le+: me, Doug, Lola, Winnie. Some people are impressed with having their pictures taken. Some are not.)
We have sunsets here too. And trees. Lots and lots of trees. Besides, St. Louis is kind of awesome! Shhh… Don’t tell, I think they’re trying to keep it a secret!
Welcome to St. Louis!
Plus, now I teach fewer classes (just yours!) and I have +me for all the stuff I’ve been pu[ng off for the day when I “have less to do.” HA. This involves many, many cups of tea and tons of books. So very many books. I have two different library cards. So cool.
And finally all my art. Long ago, I wanted to be an illustrator, but I chose books instead. Now I have +me for ink and paint.
My biggest project, other than keeping up with you, is finishing my novel. (The one I’m wri+ng, not the one this cat is reading, which is Moby Dick. I did not par+cularly care for Moby Dick, but Winnie couldn’t stop sleeping on it. I’m way more into The Hunger Games and The Blood of Eden books these days. Call it research. )
Even though we’re far apart, I’ve got plenty of +me for you. Never hesitate to email me or shoot me a message if you see me on Skype. Even though my life is more than just teaching these days, it’s a huge part of who I am and always will be. Besides, since I work from home now, some+mes you’re the only adult humans I talk to un+l Doug comes home. So there’s that.
Thanks for following along! All photos were taken by me and all art was scribbled by my amateur hand. If you’d like to know more about me, feel free to snoop around at acwaechter.com
