Brothers:
First, I want to thank each of you for the best wishes and congratulations, on being installed
as your District Deputy Grand Master. I will do my best to honorably represent the brothers of
the 26th Masonic District. I will always be available to field questions and/or problems as they
may arise.
Grand Lodge was a great success. The legislation important to the survival of the
individual Lodges, and Masonry, was passed by a wide margins. We as a craft may now rent
our buildings, where alcohol may be served, for non-masonic events. This increased revenue
can be used to offset the costs of maintaining our Lodges so they will be attractive to clients.
Please ensure the all of the provisos are followed. Where there are "extra" funds, we can once
again, contribute to our mission of charity.
Again, proposals for recognition for Prince Hall and the Grand Lodge of Cuba were recog-
nized. We may again see globalization of our fraternity.
First on our agenda, will be the official visit of our newly installed Grand Master, John
Karroum. This will be held on July 7th, 2018. Registration 5:30 pm. Dinner at 6:30
pm. Program 7:30 pm. I will need all the help you can provide. I have assistance for the sign in
tables and several of the vital tasks. But, there is a lot to do. Set up will be Friday July 6th at
5:00 pm at the American Legion. Let's make this the best visitation in the state.
I want to thank you all in advance for your support.
Fraternally,
R.: W.: Phil Slack (still having a difficult time with that signature!)

Time 7:30 PM - Memorial Lodge meets at 7:00 PM Future Meetings
July -- 25th 2018 @ West Broward Lodge No. 253
August -- 29th 2018 @ Doric Lodge No. 140
Brothers,
Grand Lodge is now behind us for another year-for those of us that attended the
annual communication in Orlando, I truly hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. It
truly was a wonderful long weekend. We welcomed our new Most Worshipful Grand
Master John Karoum and I know you all join me in wishing him and his grand line of
officers a fantastic year. The craft voted in R:.W:. Jeff Foster as the new Junior Grand
Warden and we welcome him to the Grand line this year, wishing him much success.
On a note closer to home, I would like to congratulate our own R:.W:. Phil Slack as
the newly appointed DDGM for District 26 and wish him much success. As one of
his committee men, I look forward to working for him this year talking about
LYPMGS as he visits the lodges in our district on his official visits. It is truly an
honor to have been asked to join R:.W:. Phil as one of his committeemen.
Which brings me to the next item; with R:. W:. Phil Slack taking on the role of
DDGM, I am honored and humbled to move into the role as President Pro Temp for
the remainder of the year. I can only hope to fill a portion of the “shoes” left behind.
My promise to the brothers of District 26 is that I will do the best job I am capable of
doing while enlisting the help of those around me to ensure a positive year of growth
and brotherly love.
I would also like to THANK Dawn Vitoulis and Judy Pappas for the
wonderful job they did looking after the hospitality suite at Grand Lodge making sure
there was always plenty to eat and drink at all times. Thank you Ladies!
The first official DDGM visit will be June 7th at R:.W:. DDGM Phil’s home lodge,
West Broward Masonic Lodge. Dinner at 6:30, meeting at 7:30.
Remember, the GMOV to our district is Saturday July 7th at the American
Legion. Let’s make sure we all chip in and help in the preparations for that night.
This is the time to make our district and new DDGM shine!
Lastly, the district is putting on an outdoor MM degree Saturday November
17th at Sawgrass Recreation Center. Let’s make sure each lodge is doing their part to
make this a successful event.
In closing, I would like to thank each and everyone one of you for the trust and
confidence you have placed in me.-I will strive to live up to your expectations of me
(and have a lot of fun trying!)
Fraternally,
W:.M:. Steve Rushefsky

School of instruction (7:00PM-8:00PM) June 18th 2018 at Doric Lodge No. 140
My Brothers,
As this Grand Lodge year comes to an end, I’d like thank each and every brother who
came out to support the District's Open Books and School of Instruction. Your participation
shows your desire not just for personal betterment but to help each of your particular lodges
become more proficient with our ritual work.
I personally have increased my knowledge of our rituals, and I am honored to have the
opportunity to share with others. As a relatively new member of the craft myself, I could not
have accomplished my goals this year without the support and wise counsel of many of our
past DDs and DIs. More especially our Zone 7A 26th District Committee on Work
Chairman RW Al McDonald and our State Committee on Work Chairman RW Jeff Miller.
Thank you all.
I would also like to thank our hosting Lodge Doric for allowing us to meet and use your
facilities.
I am also fortunate to have been asked by our incoming MWGM to continue as DI for
the new year. As such I will continue to focus on our floorwork and I hope to see more
lodge brothers getting your proficiency cards. Especially the blue cards for the lodge
instructors and silver cards for the lodge mentors responsible for catechism instruction.
Speaking of proficiency cards, for those of you who have cards nearing expiration, don't
allow all that hard work and diligent study you've already done go to waste. Remember the
3 year clock starts over again by simply getting that next card. Keep going brothers.
Thank you again for the opportunity to serve and be part of the greatest fraternity in the
world. May peace and harmony be with you, your families and your lodges. Hope to see
you in Orlando.
Fraternally,
R:.H:. Michael W. Tishman P.M.

YOUTH CORNER — Chapter Order of DeMolay
For the month of May, the boys visited Eureka North Shore Lodge No. 269 and
gave a presentation on the history of DeMolay and the Shield Talk ceremony. The
chapter had a Mother’s Appreciation Day where we had potluck food and presented
The Flower Talk ceremony to the mothers of our chapter Lastly, we had our
Saturday chapter meeting with lunch and then went to Feeding South Florida
community service. They had a fantastic time there and want to do it again.
For the month of June, we will continue to work on their ritual & floor work and
study the open ceremonies. For our fun activity, we will be going ice skating and
have a father’s celebration. We are trying to find a charity work for the month of
June. If any of the Lodges are doing charity or community service, please let us
know.
If you were like to request the boys to assist with serving dinner at your stated
meeting, picnic set-up, special events, participate at a charity, Installation, give a
DeMolay presentation, or showcase one of our DeMolay open ceremonies OR if

Fort Lauderdale York Rite Spring Festival
As a Master Mason you've already received the first 3 degrees of York Rite Masonry. Last time
you read a book, did you stop after the third chapter or did you read on to see how the story
ends? Are you desirous to learn what happens after the Master Mason Degree and the events
that led up to it?
Upon being raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason you were told the Genuine
Secrets were lost and that it was necessary to wait until time and circumstance should restore
them. The Royal Arch degree specifically completes the Master Mason degree. York Rite
Masonry consists of 3 individual bodies: Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Council of Royal &
Select Masters and Commandery of Knights Templar.
The degrees will be conferred on four different dates to allow the candidate an opportunity to
better comprehend the lessons taught before continuing on. Your desire for Further Light
continues with the degrees of Capitular Masonry.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO RECEIVE THE YORK RITE DEGREES?
You should be serious and enthusiastic about Freemasonry and wish to improve your
Masonic knowledge.
You should be interested in completing your degrees in Pure and Ancient
Freemasonry
You must be a Master Mason in good standing for 6 months or proficient

The Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm, whose
subordinate bodies are the Grottoes, is an organization by and for Master
Masons. Although it is primarily an organization for fellowship and fun, it
also has its serious side. Its slogan is GOOD FELLOWSHIP, and it supports
local Blue Lodges and its own Humanitarian Foundation.
The Humanitarian Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that
brings “Special Smiles” to children with special needs by providing them
much-needed dental care. The program helps cover the costs of dental
treatment, including hospital and anesthesia costs, when needed, for children
with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular
disorders, those with intellectual disabilities, including Downs Syndrome.
We welcome new members. If you are a member and have not already done
so, please take a minute and send in your 2018 dues. Your $45 check to
R∴W∴ Sol Goldenberg will be welcome.
