When we started out in the wine trade, neither of us could have known that one day we would be making wine in three continents and selling it in four. That we are able to do this is partly a testament to technology but it is our fundamental love for wine and restless curiosity that provides the inspiration for all that we do.

A restless curiosity for all things vinous, combined with a passion for intelligently made wines that are imbued with personality, quality and humour forms the bedrock on which Alliance’s winemaking projects are built.

We enjoy working in countries where our extensive global knowledge of wine can be leveraged to add value for our customers - countries where we have extensive on-the-ground experience, countries that we are deeply passionate about and where we can add the Alliance

“twist” that sets apart what we do.

Seeking out like-minded growers and innovative winemaking partners, Alliance leaves no stone unturned in order to provide inspirational wines that are proven market leaders in terms of value and style.

Our background in the UK provides us with an intensely competitive market on which to test new wines. Moreover, our core business of supplying fine wines to the restaurant and hotel sector informs our winemaking style and ensures our wines are measured not only by critical acclaim but by the need to work in a commercial environment.

Ever since fellow Scots, James Busby and John MacArthur founded the Australian wine industry in the early 19th century, the relationship between Scotland and

Australia has been an enduring one. Guardians of this long history, Thistledown Wine Co continues the tradition of Scottish ingenuity and great Australian wine.

From our base in the idyllic Adelaide Hills, we work with pristine fruit sourced from iconic vineyard sites. Peter Leske, Giles Cooke MW and Fergal Tynan MW hand-make small-batch wines that perfectly illustrate the benefits of great sites and intelligent winemaking.

This unique blend of superb fruit sources and experience in both the New and the Old Worlds helps craft wine of subtle energy, texture and detail – wines perfectly suited to complement rather than overwhelm fine food.

We LoveGrenache, Shiraz & Chardonnay – all sourced from amazing vineyard sites in the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills & Langhorne Creek

We MakeSmall batch, hand-made wines from sites that we believe are special. We pick fruit on the way up rather than the way down so that we can do as little as possible to make the best wine.

We SupportThose who care for these great sites and amazing vineyard resources. We ensure that all of our relationships are profitable ones – in the broadest sense of the word.

With a refreshed and stylish new look and crafted in a thoroughly modern fashion, One Chain Vineyards provides a competitive introduction to Australian wine.

The Imperial Measurement of One Chain, or 22 yards, is a nod to sportsmanship of the past but you don’t need to be a connoisseur of the great game of cricket to be bowled over by the restrained, elegant style of the Chardonnay and the bright red fruit and subtle oak of the Shiraz Cabernet.

Though many have now joined the Spanish Revolution, few have the passion and expertise that Alliance has built up over the last decade – and it is this passion for Spain that we channel through the individual projects that make up Vinedos Perdido.

Working on the ground with the best in each region, we create distinctive, individual wines with the clear philosophy that only by working with indigenous grapes can you reflect a true sense of place. Though not shy to be experimental both in region and style, Vinedos Perdido’s modern takes on traditional wines will always be a true reflection of what has made Spain one of the best resources for characterful, honest wines.

deAltoTinto

DOCa Rioja

Great wine is made in the vineyard and so our deAlto project had to be based on viticultural quality and control. Our access to over 200 hectares of vineyards puts us in an enviable position position within Rioja. Working to isolate particular plots, we work with enlightened winemaker Borja Ripa to fashion the wines of deAlto.

Meaning “of height” or of great respect, deAlto hints at the aspirations of this project and of the quality of what is in the bottle. Following extensive tastings across the region, and of similar styles globally, we craft deAlto in the best traditions of this classic region but fuse cutting-edge viticultural and winemaking techniques to create a modern interpretation.

Más Buscados

Inspired by three individual growers whose grapes form part of the cuvée, Más Buscados is a project that draws on the fruits of our selection process to craft wines that fulfil the potential of these venerable old vineyards.

Together, Los Tres Pacos are wanted for producing grapes of criminal succulence and concentration. Long term, committed offenders, they have been known to cut bunches and slash yields, letting nothing stand in their way.

Campo Flores

The sun-drenched vineyards of Central Spain provide the perfect natural backdrop to organic grape growing and it is with these grapes that we craft the wines of Campo Flores.

Evoking memories of less intensive farming and good old-fashioned, honest produce, Campo Flores wines taste naturally good. A vivacious and tangy Verdejo Sauvignon and a succulent, juicy Tempranillo bring together all that is good in modern Spanish winemaking.

Castillo del Moro

Vinedos Perdido’s approach is to respect Spain’s rich and culturally diverse past while encouraging progress and experimentation. Castillo del Moro is the result of this philosophy.

Castillo del Moro wines are sourced from one of the most advanced bodegas in La Mancha and they combine the traditional varieties of the region with international varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah. Castillo del Moro represents the very best of modern Spanish winemaking but draws on a tradition that goes back centuries.

The result is exceptional value for money and huge drinkability.

The Mimic

Unabashed in its ability to match the bold, rich flavours of its Antipodean counterparts, The Mimic Shiraz is a southern Spanish take on an old favourite. Displaying a plethora of ripe, dark fruits, hints of mocha, vanilla and spice, this Aussie bashing red, mimics the strident style that has found such favour in the southern hemisphere.

Cabrito OscuroOld Vine Tempranillo

Castilla y León

Mago y Granjero

Convinced by character and authenticity and sceptical of bureaucracy borne of tradition, Mago y Granjero make and seek out exceptional Spanish wines capable of illuminating the incredible potential of this vast and noble land. Each wine is the result of a long journey. Each wine is hand made. Each wine reflects the personality of the land and the subtle imprint of man in varying degrees. Every wine is a wine of which we are proud. We’ve been fascinated by some of the lesser known areas within Castilla y León and longed to produce a wine that spoke more of individual sites rather than of the esteem of one particular region. The results of our first journey are to be found in Cabrito Oscuro. Meaning the “black goat”, the name is a reflection of our desire to break the mould, stand out from the pack and to take the path less trodden.

Sourced from old vine, dry grown, bush vine Tempranillo grown in a single vineyard in the D.O of Cigales, Cabrito Oscuro belies the humble reputation of this area and reinforces the belief that many of Spain’s best sites are still to become famous.

El Primero celebrates the exuberance of youth, be it in mind or in wine. Following the age old tradition of offering weary pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago a taste of the fresh new vintage wines, El Primero offers weary wine drinkers a taste of all that is good in modern Spain. The wines, sourced in the historic region of Navarra, are filled with bright succulent fruit and provide an exciting journey through the best Spanish vineyards.

Chile’s coming of age has been in parallel with its search for more marginal vinegrowing climates and more profound winemaking styles. Over indulged with winemaking blessings, the geographical isolation, shelter from damaging weather and high levels of sunshine and solar radiation have made it possibly too easy to make ordinary wine in Chile.

Alliance Wine, as ever, has leveraged its relationships with producers to create a range of wines capable of harnessing the fantastic abundance of resources this country has to offer.

Espinos Y Cardos

Espinos Y Cardos explores some of the premium varietals most adapted to the climate. Drawing on vineyard resources in Casablanca and Maipo, the range not only fulfils the thirst for brilliantly competitive varietals but also illustrates key regional and varietal allegiances and offers stunning value both in terms of packaging and in quality of wine.

The Los Espinos wines are something of a rarity. Our small-scale production allows us to give personal attention to fruit selection and blending, thus ensuring the quality of the wine in the bottle.

Our Sauvignon Blanc is an elegant, crisp white with vibrant grassy character and hints of tropical fruit.

Our Merlot is a lusciously textured, fruit packed wine with a soft, generous style. Ideal on its own or to accompany most foods.

Espinos Y Cardos

A single vineyard project from one of the most coastal vineyards in Chile. Sited in the San Antonio region just 5 km from the ocean, 55 miles west of central Santiago and just south of Casablanca Valley. This unique microclimate, fuelled by the Humboldt Current, provides morning mists and spring frosts, more often associated with the Napa Valley and Bordeaux.

Alliance Wine France

That Alliance’s roots are in France might come as a surprise to those who know the high profile championing of emerging producers from countries such as Australia and Spain.

However, our commitment to the home of great wine remains firm and has been reinforced by the current, exciting developments in the South, perfectly suited to Alliance’s stated aims of adding value, championing modern classic producers and going beyond boundaries to source characterful, tasty wines that speak loudly of their sense of place and history.

FélicetteBoldly going where no wine has gone before

In a uniquely Gallic surge of innovation, 1963 witnessed France entering the feline space race via a cat called Félicette. Now immortalised in a wine that pays homage to those that think outside of the box, Félicette is for all those that dream to be a little different. Distinctly French – restraint, mineral, varietal definition, balance – these wines are crafted to be subtle, sassy and food friendly. The Grenache blanc is mineral, crisp, fresh and textural with hints of almond while the Grenache Rouge is elegant, supple, succulent and aromatic. With eye-catching labels and a premium bottle, these wines deliver superb value. Nothing else out there looks quite like it!

With packaging influenced by old French advertising ephemera, Pierre et Papa’s nostalgic feel is very much in tune with the desire to seek out honest value.
