ThermoSoft II
Some of the images in this Slide Show were taken by the IRRIS 160.
This Slide Show can only present highlights – call us if you need some points clarified.
The illustration in this Slide Show are intended to be illustrations only – your actual applications may be different. This software has the flexibility, without being overly complex or difficult to learn, to handle many different applications.
3
ThermoSoft II - Basic information
This is REAL TIME software. What this means is that the image displayed on the computer screen represents Infrared Events as they happen.
There are two specifications that INFLUENCE REAL TIME displays. The actual rate at which the camera can capture data internally. Frames per second
This software is takes temperature calibration information from the camera RS 232 port in REAL TIME – including RANGE information –
This is a capability and which distinguishes ThermoSoft II from other software that also works with the IRRIS camera.
4
ThermoSoft – User friendly features
FAST SAVE – objects placed on the image, are saved and then used again in exactly the same position on the next image. This means you do not have to repeatedly enter temperature tools.
CLIP Board – ThermoSoft II supports Windows Clipboard for cut and paste into other Windows programs for fast reports.
Excel – data is saved to an Excel Log and can assume the shape of the object with all the temperature points of that object mapped.
Preferences - to setup the software the way you want it.
Commonality – editing, placing of objects, mouse actions, ONCE LEARNED are LEARNED for all.
Right Click – speed menus related to selected object.
5
ThermoSoft II Highlights
REAL TIME - Analyze images frame by frame in real time.
RATIOMETRIC - Continuous image temperature calibration.
FILES – JPEG, TIFF, AVIO, BMP, TS2, THM, and EIC.
EVENT FILES – Fast Save, Movie Save, Log, Alarm, I/O.
CAMERAS – Almost anyone that works with the EDT Capture Card.
INFRARED REMOTE – LINE OF SIGHT Infrared Camera Control which permits the operator to capture images without using the keyboard from a distance, and through safety windows.
Camera Ranges. Camera control function which allows the operator to set a camera range from the software.
6
ThermoSoft II - Modules
The next slide is a drawing of the modules available in ThermoSoft II.
This demonstrates the relationship and the integration of all the needed modules for a real time Infrared Software package.
EIC has the ability to create custom software packages by using any combination of these modules.
The great number of modules along with functions represent a real value to the customer.

Software Features continued
32 bit software Windows software for fast real time image analysis
NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 operating system.
12 bit digital IR Data for the highest possible camera resolution.
Real-time temperature calibration of images taken from Camera automatically.
13
ThermoSoft II - Adjustments
Emissivity adjustment for: ROI – region of interest – drawn with a
mouse on a live or captured image. Adjust emissivity for the entire image. Adjustments from a standard table. Or edit to the user requirements.
14
ThermoSoft II - Adjustments
Temperature adjustment for: ROI. For Entire image. Adjust emissivity for all the measurement tools. For example the user can adjust for each tool, or if there are
multiple instances of the same tool on the image, each one of these can have a different adjustment.
IR transmission factor adjustments Use to compensate for distance, dust, moisture, and other
conditions that reduce the amount of IR getting to the camera.
15
Replay editor, color bar, and level sensitivity tool. Drag and drop positioning anywhere on the
screen. Perform direct operations on images to
save time for capture, text, and temperature tools. .
Special toolbars such as COLOR, and Level Set.
Information tool bars for the camera.
16
ThermoSoft II – Tool Bars
Right CLICK the Mouse on any empty tool bar space to bring up the menu shown to the left.
Select from this the tool bar desired.
Tool bars can be selected individually for each module in the software.
17
Software Features Continued
Apply a color palette to any image.
Palettes included Common palettes such as IRONBOW, GRAY,
and RAINBOW are included.
Make new palettes by using an editor.
Use the color bar tool shown to the left to show the relationship between color and temperature.
The ThermoSoft color bar is the method of creating ISOTHERMS.
18
ThermoSoft - Features ISOTHERMS
Isotherms. Create isotherms by CLICKING on color bar. There is no limit on the number of isotherms applied
to an image. Use windows or the palette colors. Each ISOTHERM is fully editable. See editing slide.
CLICK on an area of the color bar to access an ISOTHERM.
Then EDIT the ISOTHERM by dragging and dropping on edges of ISOTHERM located on the COLOR BAR.
19
Software Features - Isotherms

20
ThermoSoft Features - Annotate Images
Annotate Images Overlay text on an image. Overlay arrows, lines, boxes, circles, shapes on an
image. Change annotations with a edit. Drag and drop with a mouse to new locations. Save ALL the annotations with image. Reload with image and remove. The next
slide provides examples
21

26
Software Features – Editing objects
Editing
The software edits EVERY object placed on the screen in the same way.
Once learned and with a little practice the process is the same for all objects.
Objects are text, temperature tools, isotherms, annotations, etc placed on the screen.
You can undo objects individually, or clear all of them from the screen
27
Software Features – Objects
Object placement on the screen.
Every object edits in the same way.
Geometric objects such as rectangle, circles, shapes, have vertical dimensions.
For example an object placed on another object will affect that object, by being behind or in front of the object.
This is an infrequently used property, but it has uses, like observing the interaction of temperature tools.
28
ThermoSoft Features – Exclusion Objects
A special group of objects have a special function to mask everything in the image when placed on them.
This means temperature, black pixels from the camera, or objects in the screen that you do not want to measure can effectively be removed.
THEY ARE NOT ERASED – and once the Exclusion object is removed they become visible or active.
These objects are edited like any object.
29
