1) Multi-DB Manager

Multi-DB Manager was database oriented desktop software. The purpose of making this applicationwas to support different relational database management system (RDBMS) in a single platform. It wasa database administration tool. The graphical component of Multi-DB Manager allows user to performdatabase administration tasks with the convenience of a graphical user interface (GUI). It will empowerdevelopers and DBAs to be more productive by providing an intuitive graphical user interface to SQLServer, Oracle and Microsoft Access, MySQL. It provides a MMCbased user interface and defines Serverinstances. Invoke the various wizards defined for Server. Create and administer all Server databases andother objects such as tables, stored procedures and users, views, Roles in each registered server.

2) Sayvoice

SayVoice is a combination of both desktop and web application. In modern age Mobile phone becomes

the necessary part of life and people getting much busier. SayVoice provides the solution of busy lifethose people who can not find time to check their Emails regularly now they can get their Emails ontheir Mobile as a whole or part. Registration is also provided on Mobile phones. Through SayVoiceSystem people can chat with their friends on their Mobiles without registering themselves on website.People can reply to emails that they get on mobiles and that reply will be delivered into their Mailboxes.Users can listen SMS on their Mobile phones. Hence it is a complete package for mobile users.

3) ExCache

Caching is a technique for storing data in-memory that is expensive to create again and again.Cachingsolution we are going to develop "ExCache" uses the data caching technique for caching the frequentlyused data in the cache hence increasing the performance of .NET applications by reducing the expensivedata trips to the database. ExCache will provide ease to the developer of .NET to make their applicationsperform better in terms of time taken to get a result of a query from database.

4) VOIP Talk

The project VoIP Talk is based on multimedia services provided by Java Media Framework (JMF) inwhich we have explored the areas of Call Establishment, Live Audio Streaming, Voice Chat, Voice Mail,saving an audio file on a hard disk and then playing it through a player and Voice Playback etc. As thatproject is based on Java therefore some features of J2SE (Java 2 Standard Edition) are also used duringthe different phases of our project in which Socket Programming, Multithreading, Event Handling andSwing (For interface) are important. We have used User Datagram Protocol (UDP) for initial signalingand RTP (Real Time Transfer/Transport Protocol) for sending and receiving audio packets over LAN(Local Area Network).

5) Asteric Server

Nowadays, with the development of the next-generation network, IMS becomes very important, andit will play a key role in the future All-IP infrastructure. But it is still in the developing stage, and it willtake time for all 3G mobile networks upgrade to 3GPP networks. Therefore, the project will study theimplementation of Open Source IMS and interoperability solutions between Open Source IMS and OpenSource VoIP/SIP implementations.

OpenIMS (Open Source IMS) was developed by FOKUS (a Germany institution) in December 2006. Itis a free IMS enterprise solution. As it is so new, there are still many doubts about using it. Therefore,it is important to evaluate it. For us, as a starting point, we configure the existing test bed, and then,Wireshark is used to trace the signaling to validate if the functionality of each component of theOpenIMS.

The other important task is to find a possible interoperability between OpenIMS and existing SIP/VoIPenterprise solutions.

6) Paraphrase Identification

MCS Dissertation research project related mainly to Natural Language Processing domain,

purposed to learn to identify that whether or not two sentences in English language are paraphrasesof each other. ParaDetect, a paraphrase identification system was developed using J2SE, which utilizedmachine learning classifier to learn to classify sentence pairs as paraphrases or not paraphrases of eachother. System implemented achieved performance accuracy comparable to state-of-the-art paraphraseidentification systems. Analysis of Microsoft Research Paraphrase Corpus, a standard dataset usedmainly for evaluation of paraphrase identification techniques, and features based on semantic heuristicsused for detecting not-paraphrase sentence pairs by ParaDetect were important part of the work.

Brief Description: Information/Data management in typical relational models is close domain. Thatcan not handle dynamic domains problems. In a close domain, systems can only retrieve predefinedinformation which they were meant to be designed. Extracting new dimensions of information fromstored data is possible through semantic information management and retrieval techniques.

A proposed solution is Graph based data storage. Resource Description Framework (RDF) has cometo be used as a general method for conceptual description or modeling of information. So in thisproject data shall be maintained in RDF structure (graph database) and reasoning algorithm shall beimplemented to provide dynamic information on request.

Application of this project is in several domains such as intelligent systems, resource management etc. 2) Scheduling through Ontologies

Brief Description: In computer science and information science, an ontology is a formal representationof knowledge as a set of concepts within a domain, and the relationships between those concepts.

It is used to reason about the entities within that domain, and may be used to describe the domain.Ontologies are used in artificial intelligence, the Semantic Web, systems engineering, softwareengineering, biomedical informatics, library science, enterprise bookmarking, and informationarchitecture as a form of knowledge representation about the world or some part of it. The creationof domain ontologies is also fundamental to the definition and use of an enterprise architectureframework.

In any system which handles clashes resolution or scheduling can be implemented through ontologydata structure. Currently time table of any educational institute which require resource managementand have clashes is a candidate application for implementation through proposed technique.
