“ALL BLACKS TRAVEL” – PROUDLY BY WILLIMENT offer tours and packages to each of the All Blacks matches above and can provide quotes and options accordingly. Please contact our friendly team for more information and brochures.

Welcome!dear All Blacks Rugby Supporter,I am pleased to present to you our “ALL BLACKS TRAVEL” – PROUDLY BY WILLIMENT brochure for the All Blacks Tour to South Africa in August 2011. The prospect of watching the All Blacks play on foreign soil is always a big draw-card for New Zealand Rugby fans, with the South African sights, game viewing and love of rugby all key attractions.

Williment Sports Travel, operators of “ALL BLACKS TRAVEL” – PROUDLY BY WILLIMENT have been organising tours following the All Blacks for over forty years now. This will be our 30th tour to the Republic of South Africa. We have earned an enviable reputation for quality tour arrangements at a reasonable price. The experience and knowledge of our people is second to none. We do not skimp on inclusions, our hotels are centrally located and of a good standard, and above all we strive to provide good value for money and a lasting once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Our tours attract many couples, but we also have a fair number of men and women travelling on their own or with a friend. Whilst the rugby is a primary reason for our tours, the days in between are filled with great touring experiences, shopping opportunities and fun social occasions. We also endeavour to build in plenty of spare time for people to ‘do their own thing’. A testimony to our tours’ success is the large number of ‘repeat’ clients that we welcome back time and again. The feedback we receive from them and the encouragement they offer, has inspired us to strive for greater improvements and innovations each time we design a new tour.

We have been waiting for this itinerary opportunity for a long time now, taking in a consecutive match on the home soil of each of the tri nations teams. We have put together a spectacular 24 day itinerary, offering ample scenic and social inclusions, with memorable meals & banquets as we journey through the best of southern Africa. starting with the Bledisloe cup in Auckland, fly with Qantas (the most direct route) to Johannesburg for 2 nights of sightseeing and recovery, before heading to the incredible victoria falls (from the zambian side) followed by 2 nights of game viewing at chobe game park. head back to south Africa spending 5 nights in the beautiful city of cape town, before travelling along the garden route on the southern coast of south Africa towards port elizabeth, the venue for the All Blacks match against south Africa. from here you move to the highly acclaimed ivory tree game lodge in the pilanesburg national park for 3 nights, before departing the African continent and travelling to the gold coast in Queensland for a few days of sun and surf, then taking in the tour finale, the Wallabies v the All Blacks at suncorp stadium.

During the tour, we hope to enjoy an exclusive cocktail function or gathering with the All Blacks team and management. This is a benefit of our relationship with the NZRU, but will largely depend on the ability to coordinate our itinerary with the schedule and availability of the All Blacks squad.

monday 8 August (B, l) Johannesberg

Today following a leisurely breakfast, you will enjoy a morning tour of famous Ellis Park Stadium. This has been the venue for some of the All Blacks most historic matches over the years, and you will see first hand what visiting rugby teams face during this time. Following this you will continue the day with a tour of Soweto. The largest black residential area in South Africa, you will see a fascinating contrast to Rosebank and Sandton in the north. This sprawling “city within a city” is home to approximately 2-million people, many of whom work in various parts of the greater metropolitan area of the Witwatersrand. The tour includes all the major points of interest, such as Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Baragwanath taxi rank, Freedom Square, Hector Pieterson Memorial and Nelson Mandela’s former home. During the tour, stop for lunch at a popular restaurant in the area. Once the tour concludes you will be returned to your hotel where you can enjoy the remainder of the day shopping at one of South Africa’s best shopping centres in Sandton.

THe ZAmBeZI SUn HOTeLLocated on the edge of the eastern cataract of the Victoria Falls, this hotel is inspired by an African walled village, and along with its Zambian artworks, is an unpretentious, fun and welcoming hotel. All 212 ensuite guestrooms are open, airy and tastefully decorated with handcrafted fusion of Zambian designs. All rooms spill outwards into the natural African bush, or face inwards into a vast, cool, landscaped pool with private, shaded balconies offering a perfect choice of holiday lodgings.

Wednesday 10 August (B) victoria falls

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side. Enjoy the many local walks and nearby “local” market. You may also wish to walk or take a taxi to the Zimbabwe side of the falls and have “high tea” at the grand old lady of local hotels, “The Victoria Falls Hotel”, otherwise relax around the resort-style pool. We recommend you pre-book a 25 minute helicopter ride with us prior to departing New Zealand. You may want to try white water rafting in the fiery Zambezi River. Other options include the lion walk (approximate cost $195 per person), a visit to Chief Mkuni’s village and the popular elephant back safari. Another option is afternoon tea on Livingstone Island, a small island in the middle of the Zambezi River, an ideal spot to view this immense mass of water. It is here that David Livingstone first viewed the Mosi-Oa-Tunya (The Smoke That Thunders) which he subsequently named after Queen Victoria. Lunch, dinner and evening at leisure.

Take in this stunning scenery through the eyes of ‘the angels’ in a 6 seater helicopter ride. This is an opportunity highly recommended by our past clients and is not to be missed!

The elephant back safari trails begin at Thorntree Lodge in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, an attractive lodge overlooking the Zambezi River. Tea, coffee and cordials are served upon arrival and after a short introductory talk and safety briefing, you are introduced to the elephants and their handlers, before mounting the great animals. THe PORTSwOOd HOTeLThe Portswood Hotel is superbly located on the site of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront near the foothills of Signal Hill and the harbour area. The entrance of The Portswood is a mere minute’s walk from the entrance of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. sunday 14 August (B) cape town

Enjoy a buffet style breakfast in the restaurant (served 6.30am – 10.30am). At 9.00am depart on a sights tour, combining the spectacular natural cape scenery and popular Cape Town city attractions. If the weather is kind, take the cable car to the summit of Table Mountain (or Signal Hill should the Table Mountain Cable Way not be open due to bad weather). The view from there should not be missed. Next, follow the scenic coastal road from Clifton to the waterfront. After, visit District Six and stroll through the original Company Gardens. Following this there is an interesting and informative drive past some historic Cape Town buildings, such as the Castle and the Slave Lodge. You will also get to see the original Malay Quarter where many of the residents have descended from slaves shipped into the Mother City by the Dutch settlers in the 17th century. The final stop is the long expanse of Blouberg Beach, offering magnificent views and great photos of Table Mountain across Table Bay, where you can also enjoy light refreshments at one of the beach-side restaurants. Return to the hotel at 1.00pm with lunch, the afternoon and dinner at leisure – your tour leader may suggest an optional group meal this evening at the V&A Waterfront or nearby (own cost).

monday 15 August (B, l) cape town

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel, before our Township Tour to District Six, Langa, Gugulethu & Khayalitsha. Revisit South Africa’s history on this cultural tour to Bo Kaap and Langa townships in Cape Town. Stroll down the narrow cobblestone streets of Bo kaap (cape malay Quarter) and you will come across brightly coloured houses and mosques,

accommodating the descendents of the people from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Malaysia, who were captured in the 17th & 18th centurys and enslaved by the Dutch-East India Company. At the oldest township of langa, where the black Africans were rehabilitated, you can meet with the locals and learn of their cultural beliefs, sample traditional African cooking at one of the restaurants, or visit the local shebeen (tavern) and play a game of pool with the locals while sipping a cold beer. Witness the community spirit of gugulethu and khayalitsha townships, where friendly residents will share the experiences of their ancestors and traditional customs that have been carried forward from bygone eras. After exploring the townships of Cape Town, return to the hotel at 1.00pm, with the remainder of the day and evening at leisure.

tuesday 16 August (B) cape town

Today is a completely free day in Cape Town. You may wish to shop, relax, catch up on laundry or continue sightseeing privately. We are offering two “optional tours” today (not exclusive to our group) :

optionAl tour: ROBBEN ISLAND & THE ROBBEN ISLAND MUSEUM, APPROxIMATELY $65 PER PERSONDepart from the hotel at 9.00am, returning at 1.00pm. Transfer to and from the V&A Waterfront for the ferry ride to Robben Island (12 km offshore), which for nearly 400 years was a place of banishment, exile, isolation and imprisonment. It was here that rulers sent those they regarded as political troublemakers, social outcasts and the unwanted of society. During the apartheid years Robben Island became internationally known for its institutional brutality. The duty of those who ran the island and its prison was to isolate opponents of apartheid and to crush their morale. Some freedom fighters spent more than a quarter of a century in prison for their beliefs. Those imprisoned on the Island succeeded on a psychological and political level in turning a prison ‘hell-hole’ into a symbol of freedom and personal liberation. The Island’s most famous resident was Nelson Mandela. The tour to Robben Island is 3.5 hours long, including the two 30 minute ferry rides, a visit to the maximum security prison, interaction with an ex-political prisoner, a 45 minute bus ride with a guide providing commentary and the opportunity to explore the Murray’s Bay Harbour precinct attractions, such as the Muslim shrine and Museum shop.

optionAl tour: SHARK CAGE DIVING, APPROxIMATELY $335 PER PERSONGet up close and personal with one of natures’ more fearsome beasts, the Great White Shark. This is a chance for experienced divers to scuba dive in the cage; for inexperienced divers to snorkel in the cage; or even for non divers – the surface viewing is spectacular. Transfer from Cape Town 2 hours along the coast to Gansbaai then out to Dyer Island, which has become known as one of only two unique areas in the world where the chance to view the great white shark is exceptionally high (99% chance between April – October). A colony of approximately 40,000 Cape Fur Seals inhabit a neighbouring island (Geyser Rock). Other wildlife species such as Cape Gannets, Cape Cormorants, African penguins, whales and dolphins are also likely to be sighted. Included are door to door transfers from Cape Town, breakfast & a light lunch after the dive inclusive of beer or wine, educational presentation, safety briefing and the chance to purchase souvenir items and DVD to remember the experience.

Wednesday 17 August (B) cape town

After breakfast, board the coach at 9.45am for a full day tour of the Cape Winelands, including a wonderful gourmet lunch at Haute Cabriere and a recommended glass of wine per course. Also visit the Blaauwklippen Wine Estate, one of the oldest working wine farms in South Africa, where the vineyards are tended with care by third generation families. Situated under the branches of the wild fig trees, the new Wine Centre is a reflection of the estate’s devotion to the relationship people have with wine, surrounded by an aromatic herb garden. Enjoy wine tasting and a cellar tour. Later return to Cape Town via Stellenbosch, including a stop at the statue of Danie Craven (the father of South African Rugby) and his famous dog “Blixem”, at the University and Museum. Evening at leisure.

thursday 18 August (B, l) garden route

After breakfast, check out of the hotel then depart to the town of Knysna which is situated along the beautiful Garden Route.

En route stop off at the “Feather Capital of the World” Oudtshoorn where you will enjoy a tour of an ostrich farm and lunch. The tour starts in the breeding camp, with a nest of ostrich eggs, where the first stage of the ostrich life cycle is explained. You will get the opportunity to test the strength of the eggs by standing on them. You will get to sit on an ostrich and those who are brave enough can even try their hand at riding one. Every tour ends with an “Ostrich Derby” where local jockeys display their riding skills. A highly entertaining and educational tour is guaranteed.

Following lunch, continue to Knysna and check in to the Protea Hotel Knysna Quays, where you will spend the next 2 nights of the tour.

Dinner tonight will be at leisure at one of the many restaurants at the Knysna Waterfront (own cost).

eXchAnge rAtesThe exchange rates used to price the tours in this brochure were current as at November 2010. Due to the volatility of exchange rates over recent months, some forward exchange rate contracts have been committed to by WST. WST has estimated the amount we will require to pay for the tours, but due to any unexpected demand WST may need to purchase more overseas funds than it has allowed for in the tour prices. Should there be a shift in the NZ Dollar rate against the South African Rand, Australian Dollar and/or the US Dollar, adjustments in the tour price may have to be passed onto clients up until full payment has been received by WST. Confidential details of exchange rate contracts remain the property of WST and its bankers.

WST will not accept responsibility for any documents subsequently altered without our consent.

pAssport And visA reQuirementsYou will need a current passport to travel overseas, with a validity of 6-months or more after the date upon which you are scheduled to arrive back into New Zealand. Most New Zealand Passport holders do not require a visa to enter South Africa. If you have a passport from another country, have a previous criminal conviction, or a contagious disease, a visa may be required to enter these countries. It is your responsibility to secure any visas well before your date of travel. Our tour price includes the purchase of a multiple entry visa to enter Zambia and Botswana, which is gained upon arrival. You can subscribe to receive email notification of the latest travel advisory updates. Certain countries require and / or recommend that travellers be vaccinated against specific diseases. Please check with your doctor and / or the embassies concerned to satisfy yourself as to whether your destinations have any requirements or suggestions in this respect. It is your responsibility to ensure your own health with regards to vaccinations and / or decisions to travel to at risk areas. You may also wish to visit the World Health Organisations website: www.who.int/en for more information on health issues.

insurAnceOur QBE Travel Insurance policy can cover you for loss of deposits in cases of “unforeseen circumstances”. This policy also offers comprehensive cover for medical treatment, travel delay, loss of cash and personal belongings. Full details will be sent once you register including negotiated discounts. We recommend that a travel insurance policy should be taken out as soon as you have paid your initial deposits. Should you wish to arrange your own travel insurance you may do so and advise us that you are covered. Please be aware that travel insurance offered by credit card companies does not always match the level of cover offered by our preferred policy. In particular, check the medical cover and the emergency assistance offered. Please ask for a copy of our QBE Insurance policy so that you can compare the cover with other policies offered.

douBle BedsPlease apply for the room type of your choice, (single, twin or double); however we are unable to guarantee that double beds will be available at all properties. We will, of course, do all we can to secure your preferred bedding request with the hotels.

tWin shAringIf you are travelling alone or with a friend, but wish to share a twin room please indicate this on the tour registration form. Our experience on recent tours is that room sharing arrangements do not always work out for people who are complete strangers to each other. The trend is for singles to take the single room option and pay the single room supplement. If however, you still wish to be matched up with someone we will do all possible to find a roommate for you. If a roommate cannot be found then the single room supplement will have to apply. We will do our best to satisfy your twin share request prior to 27 May 2011, after this date we will proceed on a single supplement basis. If room sharing arrangements do not work out to your satisfaction or either party decides to request a single room during the tour, it will be at your cost and will need to be settled with the hotel concerned directly. Extra rooms are often difficult to book on test weekends on tour.

hotel creditBonds or credit card imprints may be required by accommodation suppliers, where they are providing telephone, mini-bar, in-room movies, laundry and other facilities and services that can be charged to guest rooms. These are usually requested by the hotel at the time of check-in.

tour geArWST include distinctive and sought after branded souvenir items in your pack. These will include a jersey, shirt, hat and bag. All garments are made to order and it may not be possible to exchange items at a later date. If, due to your personal sizing limitations, tour gear and/or sizing and/or styles do not meet your personal expectations, WST cannot be held responsible. However in the past, by far the majority of our All Blacks supporters have been most satisfied with the gear provided. A tour gear order and size form will be sent out in a newsletter.

mAtch ticketsWe obtain match tickets from the NZRU allocation, received directly from the South African Rugby Football Union (SARFU). When this brochure went to print in November 2010, the match ticket pricing and positions had not been advised to the NZRU by SARFU. We have estimated the costs based on our experience and knowledge from previous tours and included this in the tour price. Once match ticket allocations have been received you will be allocated good quality reserved grandstand seats at all the stadiums. If the estimated cost and the actual cost are substantially different a supplementary charge may have to be made, or a refund provided. Match ticket prices include tariffs, royalties and fees payable to secure guaranteed early access to official match tickets from the NZRU’s ticket allocation. Please note WST cannot be held responsible where match-seating positions and perceived quality does not meet your personal expectations. However, in the past, the tickets allocated to the NZRU and our supporters have been mostly covered and of an excellent quality and position.

use of mAtch ticketsMatch tickets on their own or as part of a package may not be resold at a premium, resold through a broker or agent, advertised or offered for resale on the internet or in any other medium. They cannot be used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including prizes, competitions or trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services without the prior written permission of the New Zealand Rugby Union and/or the home unions.
