All About Wimbledon 2015Good Morning Readers,One of the most interesting tournament and The Grand Slam i.e. "Wimbledon 2015" wrapped up yesterday. This time the competetion was more fierce and everyone was fighting for the honour. There were many contenders for the final but the one who performed best at that point of time won the tournament. It clearly indicates that pressure can consume any big name and the one who maintain their composure can get through barrier.

Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 winning his third Wimbledon singles title in a match that reached sublime heights before ending on a somewhat anti-climatic note. Tackling the Federer serve with ferocious and intimidating deep returns, and relying on his own serve to pull him out of trouble time and again, Djokovic looked the much stronger player after two breathtaking first sets, where the two were locked eyeball to eyeball in a contest where there was little to choose between one or the other.

Serena Williams kept her calendar year Grand Slam alive on Centre Court with a straight sets 6-4, 6-4 win over Spain’s Garbine Muguruza for her sixth Wimbledon title.The world number one has now won all three Grand Slams events in Australia, Paris and London and as she won the last Grand Slam of 2014, the US Open, she holds all four titles. Muguruza, playing in her first Grand Slam final, only occasionally raised her game throughout to force the American into rallies with her heavy ground strokes. It was Williams’s inconsistency that largely allowed her opponent into the match.But as the Williams’s famous serve warmed the games came more easily. She broke Muguruza in the first set to level at 4-4 and again in the 10th game to take the set 6-4. From that stage the points and games and almost the second set fell to Williams as Muguruza all but imploded as the Centre Court hushed for what appeared to be another culling.The 33-year-old snapped out of her head funk and easily broke her opponent’s serve in the next game, a wide forehand from Murguruza on match point floating wide.

In another interesting match, India’s Sania Mirza and Switzerland’s Martina Hingis had won their first major as a pairing in women’s doubles, somehow overcoming a 5-2 hole in the deciding third set to beat Russian duo Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina 5-7, 7-6, 7-5. After a disappointing French Open campaign, the number one seeds had won at Wimbledon, tennis’ most iconic event. The deciding set was an epic struggle, with Mirza and Hingis trailing for much of the match and struggling to dictate against the world’s number two ranked pair. They fought back with resilience and eventually their class told during an incredible last five games when the pair’s shot-making simultaneously caught fire and magical strokes continually ensued.

This wimbledon was a success from India's prospective with three Indians being the part of final winners. And the win becomes more important for Sumit Nagal, who won boys doubles. He can be the rising star and we can expect more tremendous performence in future. 17-year-old Nagal and his eighth seed Vietnamese partner overcame the fourth seeds Reilly Opelka and Akira Santillan 7-6(4), 6-4 in the title clash that lasted 63 minutes. Yuki Bhambri was the last Indian to taste success at the top level in junior tennis when he won the Australian Open boys singles title in 2009.

This was not it. A vintage Leander Paes clinched his 16th Grand Slam trophy, winning the mixed doubles event of the Wimbledon Championship with legendary Martina Hingis after a dominating win over Alexander Peya and Timea Babos. Seventh seed Indo-Swiss pair drubbed the fifth seed Austrian-Hungarian team 6-1 6-1 in the lop-sided summit clash which was over in just 40 minutes. For Hingis, it was second title in as many days, having won the women's doubles with Sania. Overall it was 18th Major title for the Swiss and third in mixed doubles.
