The amount of unhealthy foods that students eat per day is astounding, partly because it is quicker and easier to grab a bag of chips instead of washing an apple. Other times we do not eat healthy is because, well, we do not like the food choices! Eating healthy doesn’t mean that you would have to cut out all the foods that you love, but instead discovering tasty foods that are good for you!

We are all aware that certain foods help us to lose weight, and make us healthy, but what are these foods? If you ask that question to almost any student, the classic answer would be fruits and vegetables, but those are just the basics. Fruits and vegetables are just raw foods, that are good for you, but there are recipes that consist of more than just a banana or some celery. By learning about recipes that are easy and good for you, the consumption of unhealthy foods will definitely decrease. It is common knowledge that as a child, eating healthy helps us to go tall and strong, but as we grow up, we do not think about how much eating healthy actually benefits us. Not only do certain foods help our bones, but they can also prevent certain types of cancers, diabetes, and obesity.

The benefits of eating healthy are endless. Hopefully this information will help to make a positive change in people’s food choices, and slowly begin to change their lifestyles.

Cooking meals usually requires a lot of time and a huge list of ingredients, even some snacks can get pretty complicated. With all the work and preparation required, and no motivation to cook, we are faced with the decision of eating our usual boring food, or spend hours working on a complicated recipe.

For those of us who do not cook, finding a simple recipe to follow can be a nightmare. When your recipe calls for a “dash” or a “sprinkle”, how much do I actually use? What if I’m doubling my recipe? These are the questions that we are stuck asking ourselves when dealing with a difficult recipe. That is mostly because the really good recipes are written for good cooks, or at least cooks that know what they are doing. It is no surprise that easy step-by-step directions and straight forward wording makes preparing food faster and easier since you do not have to waste time deciphering words. Even those who are expert cooks can agree that simple recipes are the way to go!

When using recipes that are easier to understand, and that have less steps, cooking does not have to be difficult or time consuming.

Most students hate to eat healthy foods, and they love to eat chips, brownies, cookies, etc. There are consequences in eating unhealthy foods, and some of the consequences can lead to bad things. You shouldn’t cut unhealthy foods completely out of your diet, but you shouldn’t have too much of unhealthy foods and not have any healthy foods. You need your fruits and vegetables to live. This article is going to educate you about the unhealthy foods that could harm you.

Foods that contain saturated fat, Trans fat, and cholesterol can lead to your arteries narrowing, which occurs because plaque gets on the artery walls. Some foods that contain saturated fats are like cheese, ice cream, store bought cookies and brownies, cakes, and donuts. Foods with Trans fat are cookies, cakes, pies and potato chips. Liver, pork, and sausage contains cholesterol, and a lot of cholesterol can really harm you. Other unhealthy foods consist of salt, and a lot of it. Salty foods give you high blood pressure, which can lead to Type 2 Diabetes. I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t want to have Type 2 Diabetes. If you start eating healthy foods when you are young, then you will carry on a healthy diet for the rest of your life. You need to eat foods that are fresh, like fruits, vegetables, and low fat foods.

Healthy foods need to be put into your diet because if not, you will become unhealthy. If you’re unhealthy, you can suffer from a lot of diseases. Yes unhealthy foods are good, but you shouldn’t eat them frequently. You can make your unhealthy foods healthy by taking out some of the ingredients that aren’t good for you. You can also make the portion size smaller. Imagine you are baking cookies; Do you really need to eat all of the cookies at one time? No. Make healthy decisions by eating a little at a time. In conclusion to this article, you shouldn’t kiss all unhealthy foods goodbye, but you should be more cautious about what you’re eating and what it can do to your body.

Cultural Foods:

Although most people don’t know about Cultural Foods, but Naretzi Rodriquez has been exposed to American, Mexican, and Puerto Rican foods because she is Hispanic and Latino. This means that she has a lot of different foods that we may not have heard of or tasted. Naretzi is from Manhattan, New York, but she gets the recipes from her mom and dad. She is an average teenager who goes to East Paulding. Her mom is from Puerto Rico, and her dad is from Mexico. They make traditional foods for Naretzi’s family to eat. She has shared a couple of foods that she makes with us.

foods? Mexican foods have more spices, Puerto Rican foods are more tropical, and American foods are good but too fatty.

6. Why? It has a lot of spices and flavor in it.

Desserts

In our modern day world something everyone enjoys is a nice, tasty dessert. There are many different types of desserts to choose from. You have ice cream, cobbler, cake, pie, popsicles, flan, and many more! Yet these are just some of the commonly known of desserts. If you look at different cultures, you could discover hundreds of different desserts. Although, knowing which desserts are healthy and unhealthy could be a challenge.

Healthy desserts might not sound all that good, but they can be some of the best tasting things ever. Most people don’t understand that healthy things can be tasty. They usually assume that they are nasty just because they’re healthy. An example of a healthy dessert could be an apple pie with just a little less sugar and fats. You still have all the flavor of a normal apple pie, but it will actually help your body. All it takes is a little creativity and less sugary fats, and you can be living a tasty, yet healthy life.

Unhealthy desserts taste amazing but at what cost? They cause obesity and other horrid things. Chocolate cake is something almost everyone enjoys, but it can and will, hurt your body if you don’t control how much you eat. It isn’t just cake either, it’s every unhealthy dessert. I’m talking about cake, ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, pie, milkshakes, smoothies, etc. Obesity is already a problem in America and the increasing variety of unhealthy desserts isn’t helping. If everyone who eats these unhealthy desserts takes precautionary measures, then they wouldn’t so bad. Until they do, the number of obese people will continue to rise.
