C3P

C3P (Cloud Contactless Card Payment) is a new mobile proximity payment platform aimed to be interoperable and independent from any specific mobile manufacturer, device model, operating system, TELCO operator or bank.

It has been designed to give the user a quick, simple way to use his mobile phone as an actual credit card, and to give the merchant a new innovative way to accept payments.

C3P is supported by any NFC Android smartphone. There is no need to install buy any additional hardware, such as an NFC SIM or MicroSD.

The user registers and all his personal information is stored in the Cloud. The system generates new security keys and initializes the user's handset.

C3P can potentially store any type of credit card. The user can add all the credit cards he wants on the app and choose which one to use each time.

New transaction request

A transaction begins with a new transaction request to the server by the merchant’s POS, which can be either a real NFC POS or an NFC enabled device (tablet or smartphone).

The server creates a new transaction entry and returns some information about it to the POS.

Such information is then forwarded to the user's device. Thanks to NFC technology the user only needs to tap the smartphone to the merchant’s POS in order to make the payment. The payment experience is simple and quick.

To authorize the transaction, the user is requested to type his secret code. Every payment transaction is protected. We do not store user’s code anywhere and no transaction can be triggered without a code.

An information package (encrypted with user's secret keys) containing some transaction identifiers and some user's authentication data, is returned to the POS through a second NFC tap. No payment data (cardnumber, cvv, expiring date) is transmitted in this communication!

The POS (which is unable to decrypt the content) forwards the package to the server.

The system decrypts the package with the user's keys and performs some authentication and security operations to verify the will of the user to pay and unlocks user's payment data.It finally uses webservices to communicate with the virtual pos of the merchant's acquirer in order to process the transaction.
