01LOFTING CURVES
I experimented with the lofting tool in grasshopper and found that it was quite simple.
Using two lines to loft created a very simple curve, but it wasn’t that interesting
As I added three and four curves into the loft tool I found it created much more interesting surfaces. I also experimented with twisting, drawing the curves such that the surface created twists around.

TRIANGULATION TOOLS
I really enjoyed using the triangulation tools, it was a quick and simple way of cre-ating an interesting design. I have seen a few buildings that look like they have used these tools to achieve their design.
The only issues I had was when I tried to use the voranoi 3D tool on a ge-ometry other than a cube or rectangular prism, I was unsure of what was wrong, but it ended up creating in interesting 3D line shape. (bottom right)

02TUTORIALS
This page documents all the basic things I learnt in the tutorials as a way of remembering what I can do . I didn’t have any issues with these tools which was a welcomed surprise.

MESH
This was a very interesting experiment. I began with a simple 3D shape (the wire frame) and proceeded to weld and stretch a smoothed mesh across the surface until it was near unrecognisable.
I did have a bit of an issue when I connect-ed an output into the wrong input and this can be seen above. Even though it was a mistake I still think it looks pretty cool.

EXPERIMENTATION WITH MESH
PREVIOUS MESH, OFFSET EDGES, LOFTED
I was very uneasy about this task as I had no idea what to do. After a little while of thinking about how the input and out-puts worked, I found myself creating an algorithm on my own. I was quite pleased (and surprised) at how it worked out. This is something I would like to continue to explore. Along with paneling tools, which I looked at in the toolbar breifly.

CREATING SURFACESEXPERIMENTATION WITH MESH
The image above was created by making multiple arches as detailed in the tutorial video, lofting only a couple, creating arches again in the other direction of the former arches, and then lofting those arches to create a hilly surface.

BOX MORPH
The box morph algorithm is amazing. It was very satisfying to see the things I created, and in such a short span of time. I created my own designs for meshes and exper-imented with morphing them onto the existing surface. I now understand how so many pavilions are created. It just seems so simple now!

PATTERNING LISTS

SHELF USING PATTERNING LISTS
I created these shelves by culling points in different patterns and then lofting these forms to create what is seen.
This was a very simple way of making a shelf, but there are so many different designs that can come from such a little algorithm.
![Page 15: Algorithmic Sketchbook](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022052302/568caddf1a28ab186dad8e5c/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
TESTING TESTING
Here I attempted to create forms on my own without the assis-tance of a tutorial. I think the designs turned out well. I find it interesting how with just a small change to an algorithm, such a large change can happen.
Another attempt at a different style shelf

TESTING RENDERING04
Rendering is a good way to present an idea, it makes a de-sign much more clear and easy to understand.
Here I have investigated various rendering types to see the effects each of them make.
I have found that clear renderings such as water or plastic, can often be difficult to see when rendered out, so must be attended to with care.

I found it interesting seeing the patterns created by fields, and placing points in various places to see what changes were made.
As can be seen, the images get more complex as I progress, this is due to the inclusion of many more points and lines which af-fect the direction of the field.

IMAGE SAMPLING
Image Sampling was an interesting exercise. I found myself wondering what sort of images I could create out of grasshopper. I was supprised that the images were actually able to be rec-ognised after image sampling was applied.

06
Here I took the ideas of fields and created a more solid structure. I attempted to apply a clipping plane, however I found it was much less interesting than I thought it would be on the in-side. I sustept this is because I did not use a hollow pipe.
