REMEMBER!!!!

• Centrifuges are machines and cannot think for

themselves

• They cannot self adjust (some latest centrifuges a

have limited capability to self adjust)

• Give the best results on the duty they have been

set up for

• Change the duty or operating conditions – make

adjustments for best results

• Regular basic maintenance for reliability


MECHANICAL CONDITION

DECANTERS

• Daily – Check cover clamps tight - cover gaskets -

vibration levels on run up

• Safety! – fully stopped and isolated before

removing pipes and covers

• Conveyor wear

• Conical section and discharge bushes for wear

• Gearbox / GS coupling overloads

• Cracks in frame and covers

• Lubrication bearings – Gearbox oil level


MECHANICAL CONDITION

SEPARATORS• Daily –Check oil for contamination and level –

covers tightened - valves – vibration on run up -

Bowl leaks – nylon ring – discharge intervals

• Safety! – fully stopped and isolated before

removing pipes and covers

• Monthly – Remove covers - inspect - clean Discs

• Three Monthly – Bowl Service/seals/liner check

• Six Monthly – As for Three Months plus oil change

• Yearly – Major service (as above plus bearings)
