Interior Architects (IA), Chicago, Illinois Summer/Fall 2013Co-op - Created 3D SketchUp models and Photoshop renderings for national corporate accounts including meeting spaces, employee lounge and cafe spaces, and stair features. Developed detailed shop drawings for interactive lobby signage with branding concepts. Drafted floor plans in Revit and elevations in CAD. Drafted marketing case study presentation. Developed and presented seating and squarefoot usage metrics.

Chico’s FAS, Fort Myers, Florida Fall/Spring 2011/12Co-op - Store layout and design for Soma Intimates brand, including frontline lighting fixtures, Chico’s frontline fitting room benches, Chico’s new concept storefront, new Soma Intimates signage, and storefront renderings for Soma Intimates and Chico’s frontline stores.

Synthesis Architecture + Planning, Cincinnati, Ohio Spring 2011Co-op - Sole interior designer for Louisville, KY, Greek Orthodox church project; worked directly under project architect. Conceptualized building architecture and interior finishes. Researched Greek Orthodox design traditions and developed sympathetic contemporary material choices, sourced fixtures and finishes within tight budget constraints. Presented design strategy and material choices at client board meeting. Liaised with local sales reps and introduced firm to new industry relationships.

Brew Haus - Museum Studio:Taking its name from the German word for “kettle”, Kessel is a museum dedicated to the history and art of brewing in Cincinnati during the 19th century. The museum includes an exhibition space on brewing techniques, a micro brewery, a small bar, and a biergarten.

Community Literary Center - Urban In-fill Studio: Designed a structure in the Ludlow gaslight district of Clifton to house a literary arts center housing stacks, reading areas, lecture space, and including living quarters and for rotating guest writers taking into account site and passive environmental strategies.

Retail - Professional Practice: Was a member of the Soma design team in fall of 2011 and spring of 2012, responsible for the designs of new and existing Soma stores. Designed the new Soma blade sign. During this time also did work on new fi xtures for Chico’s stores and worked on proposals for a new storefront window to be presented to the brand. Worked in several programs, including AutoCAD, SketchUP, Photoshp, and InDeisgn.

Corporate - Professional Practice: I gained a broader professional exposure at a larger firm in this final position in the co-op (internship) professional program. I was able to contribute 3D models and renderings for national account teams. I participated in the design ideation and prepared models for a financial client. I also worked closely with senior designers on new accounts for tech/social media offices and also prepared renderings for educational clients.

Carpet Design - Competition: The challenge for this team competition for Durkan sponsored by NEWH was to create a new hospitality carpet for the future.

Our group responded by designing a carpet referencing computer components and circuits. Ideally the carpet would have transistors that would light up when force is applied.

Refugee Shelter Rendering - Pro Bono: Created renderings to be incorporated into this international NGO’s United Nations proposals for a durable holistic humanitarian community aid in Haiti.

Regional Headquarters - Workplace Design Studio: Designed the interior of the fifth floor of existing Cincinnati architecture for a branch office of a national firm, including all new branding for the corporation at large. PADI (The Professional Association of Diving Instructors) is the world’s largest scuba certifying body and expansion into the Midwest is set to accommodate the growth in freshwater quarry diving.

Church - Professional Practice: Designed the interior of Panagia Pantovasilissa (All Holy Queen of All) Greek Orthodox Church in Lexington, KY. I was brought on as a designer with knowledge and experience with Eastern Orthodox culture and religion, sourced contemporary materials and finishes that would help modernize over a thousand years of traditions but still hold true to central design philosophies of Orthodoxy.

Eco-Resort - Hospitality Studio: Designed an eco-resort in northern India near the Tibetan boarder. An eco-resort is a vacation destination that focuses on low impact tourism and tries to give back to the community. This resort was designed to be a net zero energy user and to fully process its own waste. LEH Underground also focuses on Buddhist Vajrayana meditative techniques and yogic practices.

Student Center - Capstone Studio:My senior project is a multi-faith student center near the University of Michigan campus. The space is dedicated to breaking down cultural divides and fostering communication and education between the different student faith groups. A single worship space is open for multiple services and rituals. Spirit also includes meeting spaces for student groups and a resource library.
