Blogging extraordinaire Neil Patel’s 3 killer blog tacticsaleshadrew.com /blogging-extraordinaire-neil-patels-3-killer-blog-tactics/

If you’re a blogger, then you want to get the most exposure and traffic to your site as possible right?

I know I do, and when I heard these three killer blog tactics from blogging extraordinaire Neil Patel on anexclusive webcast, I was pumped!

1. GOOGLE ANALYTICS WEBMASTER TOOLS

First of all you need to be sure that you’ve set up Google Analytics for your blog.

Google Analytics shows you the full customer picture across ads and videos, websites and social tools, tablets and smartphones.

Making it easier to serve your current customers and win new ones.

If you haven’t done this yet, I suggest you do that right now before you proceed any further:

http://www.google.com/analytics

You must have a Gmail account to set up your account.

The next step for you is to set up your Google Webmaster Tools:

http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools

You want to be found on the web and Google Webmaster Tools will help you do that.

Get data, tools and diagnostics for a healthy, Google-friendly site.

Once you have set yourself up, be sure you have added your blogging site and verified the ownership ofyour site.

Now head on back to Google Analytics and click on the reporting tab at the top:

If you don’t have many keywords ranking, you may want to think about changing your headlines, as yoursource code may not be too good for your audience.

Query: The word of words typed into Google that brought that visitor to your site

Impressions: The number of times any URL from your site appeared in search results viewed by a user, not including paid AdWords search impressions.

Clicks: The number clicks on your website URLs from a Google Search results page, not including clickson paid AdWords search results.

Average position: The average ranking of your website URLs for the query or queries. For example, ifyour site’s URL appears at position 3 for one query and position 7 for another query, the average positionwould be 5 (3+7/2).

Click through rate: Click through rate = Clicks / Impressions * 100.

*Keep a constant eye on these stats moving forward as it is a key indicator of whether or not users arefinding your information on Google and what action they take next.

A good website resource to go to is http://ahrefs.com where you will find popular related content.

When you find a piece of content related to your content that is popular, you can contact the provider ofthat content and ask them to link to yours, as it would be information their users would also be interestedin.

This way you are leveraging a popular piece of content and it’s visitors.

2. SKY SCRAPER TECHNIQUE

The sky scraper technique involves finding a person who has created a popular piece of content on yourtopic.

Buzzsumo is a great place to do this.

Focus on the first three popular posts onyour topic and create a piece of content that is better and more enriched with content than these.

Then email the creator of the posts and ask them to check your post out, as their audience will love it.

What does this do?

1. The creator could possibly link to you and send their visitors to your site.

2. You can get social shares of your content

3. Traffic to your site that was leveraged from another popular site in your niche.

3. GOOGLE BROKEN LINKS CHECKER

Visiting a site called archive.org you will be able to find links that used to be ranking that aren’t rankingnow.

Page 6: Aleshadrew.com blogging extraordinaire neil patels 3 killer blog tactics

It will show you the broken links and the old page so that you can create a better version of it.

You then want to contact the website owners of the broken links and let them know and that you havecreated a similar piece of content that they can replace that broken link with.

More than likely they will replace the broken link with yours, as nobody wants to have broken links on theirsites.

Once again you are leveraging other people through your own compelling content that you create, ultimately bringing in more traffic to your site.

*Please keep in mind that not everyone will respond to you when you contact them.

Don’t wait around for replies, keep moving forward creating new content and contacting others.

BONUS BLOGGING TIPS:

As bloggers, whether your a pro or just starting out, we always want to be as open and transparent aspossible with the content we provide to the marketplace.

Communication is key, responding to your readers comments and engaging with them.

Creating exceptionally amazing content that your niche is desperate to read.

Pick one specific niche for each blogging site you have, so as not to confuse Google and your targetaudience.

You are aiming to gain a cult loyal following which is difficult to do if you’re constantly jumping from onetopic to another.

Your heart must be in your work and you must work consistently to make your mark on your territory.
