ALPFA is a nationally-recognized professional organization with over 22,000 members. ALCO is the first and only non-traditional adult learning center recognized as an official ALPFA educational chapter. This is groundbreaking as it sets the precedent for other educational and alternative educational entities throughout the nation to organize chapters and become ALPFA organizations. ALCO is now one of over 120 student chapters, and joins the University of Central Florida, DeVry University, University of Phoenix, and Rollins College as representatives in the Central Florida region. ALPFA offers student members training and development opportunities, leadership practice, scholarship opportunities, and exposure to networking. The ALCO ALPFA chapter will be organizing a variety of training and development events for students, while also engaging in professional activities within the community and participating in regional and national ALPFA training events. ALCO's first ALPFA-sponsored event took place on Thursday, December 11. The "Dress for Success" fashion show and training workshop was developed to help ALCO's adult students understand how to dress professionally for a job interview. The workshop included an informative presentation and a runway-style fashion show that showcased a variety of professional and business casual dress options. On Saturday, January 31, ALCO ALPFA students will participate in the Southeast Region Student Symposium that will be held at the UCF College of Hospitality Management in Orlando. Students will participate in educational workshops, a networking reception, mentoring luncheon, and a career fair. Thanks to a generous sponsorship from Intuit Software, Inc., ALCO ALPFA students will be attending this leadership development event at no cost. ALCO Anuncia su Autorización para Establecer un Capítulo de Estudiantes de la Asociación

de Latinos Profesionales para América

El Centro de Aprendizaje Osceola para Adultos (ALCO, por sus siglas en inglés) ha sido oficialmente autorizado por la

Sede Corporativa de ALPFA (Asociación de Latinos Profesionales para América) para establecer un capítulo local de

estudiantes para dicha Asociación. ALPFA, es una organización profesional reconocida nacionalmente, con más de

22,000 miembros. ALCO es el primer y único centro de aprendizaje para adultos no tradicional reconocido como un

capítulo educativo oficial de ALPFA. Esto es innovador porque establece un precedente para otras entidades educativas

y alternativas a través de la Nación para organizar capítulos y formar parte de las organizaciones de ALPFA. ALCO es

ahora uno de más de 120 capítulos de estudiantes y se une a University of Central Florida, DeVry University, University

of Phoenix y Rollins College como representantes en la región de Florida Central.

ALPFA ofrece adiestramiento para los estudiantes miembros y oportunidades de desarrollo, práctica en liderazgo,

oportunidades para becas y contacto con otras personas. El capítulo de ALPFA en ALCO estará organizando una variedad

eventos de adiestramiento y desarrollo para estudiantes, mientras también participará en actividades profesionales

dentro de la comunidad y en eventos de adiestramientos regionales y nacionales de ALPFA. El primer evento de ALCO

El sábado, 31 de enero, los estudiantes de ALPFA de ALCO participarán en el Simposio de Estudiantes de la Región

Sureste que se llevará a cabo en el Colegio de Administración de Hospitalidad de UCF en Orlando. Los estudiantes

participarán en talleres educativos, una recepción para conocer otras personas, un almuerzo sobre consejería y una feria
