Served more than 30,000 children with donations of over 30,000 books through the Read to Me Campaign

Book Drive Sandia/Lockheed Martin sponsored Book Grants Books Grants at 10 pilot schools funded by from Philips

Contribution for at-risk youth Book exchanges at local child welfare and public health

offices

Read to Me Campaign reached over 23,000 families through 300 Read to Me Partner groups serving young families with children. Campaign provided Read to Me Partners with:

Read to Me materials: flyers, bookmarkers, posters and Once Upon a Time booklets

Resources to help support and expand their services Information about resources to support their work

Read to Me advertising campaign reached over 723,285. Including:

Served over 730,205*Second Grade Reading Academy served 216 with 55%

children made at least one grade level improvement*Read By Third Grade Initiative

Marketing Campaign reached 723,285 with the importance of reading to their children10 Pilot schools served 3,697 children with 7,071 books

*School to World served 2200 students with high evaluations rating the event very informative

Philips Contribution for At-Risk Youth

*Fade II Reality served 22 students increasing attendance, 98% improved grades in math and science, 80% improved adult relationships

*Falcon Crest served 40 students improving attendance, grades including 1/3rd made honor roll and improved behavior

*Get to Work served 25 students and 17 students received entry level positions upon completion

*Job Mentor Program served 720 students 60 students received mentorships at University Hospital and $4,500 were given in scholarships

Allocated carry over funds for 2004-2005 Established process for making

Job Mentor Program Served 720 students 576 students had 60 hour job shadow experiences 14 received scholarships from the Job Mentor Program 73 participate in Government Day 210 Graduated 720 stayed in school
