Alamogordo Fire Department The City of Alamogordo announced earlier this week the retirement of Alamogordo Fire Chief Jim LeClair and the hiring of the new Chief, Richard Adler. Today the Alamogordo Fire Department held a small Change of Command Ceremony at Fire Station one. Families and City Staff were present for the event and Richard Boss, Mayor of Alamogordo, proclaimed today Fire Chief Jim LeClair Day. Deputy Fire Chief Jerry Ramirez acted as the Master of Ceremonies, City Manager Brain Cesar over saw the change of command, incoming Chief Richard Adler was presented a ceremonial Firefighter Trumpet & Megan Freese, niece to LeClair sang You Are So Beautiful an important and meaningful song to the family. Chief Adler said, Chief LeClair has set a great foundation for the Alamogordo Fire Department. I look forward to building off of what he has started. I will strive to gain an ISO 2 rating and work towards national accreditation. Best wishes for a happy retirement Jim. Also included in the ceremony today was a procession down 10th Street were each firefighting shift thanked the Chief for his guidance & leadership and wished him well in retirement. Chief LeClair finished the procession by driving under a mist of water in a traditional *water salute. Chief LeClair s wife of over 37 years, Christy, gave last-call at 3:59 pm. Todays events are a real testament to Chief LeClair and his unwavering service to our beautiful city and our citizen s. To see so many people come out and wish him luck in his next chapter says it all. He has epitomized what leadership truly is, and has been instrumental in training our next generation of leaders. It s a bittersweet day for staff, because we are excited to have Chief Adler on board but saddened to say goodbye to Chief LeClair. The City of Alamogordo announced earlier this week the

retirement of Alamogordo Fire Chief Jim LeClair and the hiring of the new Chief, Richard Adler.

Today the Alamogordo Fire Department held a small Change of Command Ceremony at Fire Station
