A love song

I see trees of green, and red roses too

I see them bloom for me and you

And I think to myself what a wonderful

life

I see a blue sky and white clouds

I look at the sun and admire its

brightness

And I think to myself what a wonderful

life

The colors of the rainbow are so pretty

in the sky

They charm the people who often go by

I see friends shaking hands and I know

They’re really saying I love you

And I think to myself what a wonderful life

An article about the situation of children in Tunisia

Children are important in our life. They are the future of our society and

they are capable of developing our nation. However, there are many problems

that may hinder this development. What are these problems? What are their

effects and what are the rights of children?

There are many problems that children face. First, there is poverty. Children

don’t have homes, food and clothes. Second, they don’t have schools and

books. They live without education. Third, poverty affects their health.

Sometimes, they die because of hunger. These situations have many effects. In

the first place, children will be exploited by the rich people through child labor.

Also, they will become criminals and will

know many corrupt people and start stealing

and depending upon alcohol. To prevent

children from these dangers, we have to give

them their rights. Children’s most important

rights are: freedom, protection, health and

education.

In conclusion, we can say that life without children is a life that is without

development and that has a bad future. That’s why, people should help these

children. For example, they can give them money and enact laws to protect

them.

Radio Presenter: Hi Anis! Welcome to our radio show.

Anis: Hi! I’m so happy for your invitation. Thank you.

Radio Presenter: First, I want to ask you about your

dream job.

Anis: I dream of becoming an architect.

Radio Presenter: It’s a good job but why an architect exactly. Why haven’t you

chosen another job?

Anis: In my opinion, this job is the best job because it gives you a good salary.

Also, it has prestige.

Radio Presenter: What does an architect do?

Anis: when someone wants to build his house or anything else, the architect

prepares the plan.

Radio Presenter: I think it’s a difficult job.

Anis: No, it’s not but it requires a lot of schooling, about 7 years.

Radio Presenter: So you have to work hard to succeed.

Anis: yes and I’m working on that.

Radio Presenter: I wish that you achieve your dream and thanks for coming.

Anis: You are welcome.

An earthquake stole away our happiness

Last month, we moved to another house and we were feeling so happy. We

tried our best to make the house look beautiful. The first night in that house,

my mom prepared a delicious dinner. My brother and sister set the table.

Everything seemed like magic. All of us sat around the table and enjoyed the

smell of the flowers. Suddenly, the weather changed and the house began

shaking. We were so afraid. My little sister was screaming. My dad tried to help

my sister and brother. We tried to leave the house as soon as we discovered

that it was an earthquake. Oh God! When I remember that night I feel

frightened. Our house collapsed

on top of us. My mother was hurt

and she fainted. My sister was

crying and all of us tried to

survive. Unfortunately,

my mother died. My father took

my sister and I and put us away

from the devastation. But

my brother didn’t survive.

The closet fell on top of him. On that night, I lost my dear father and also my

best brother. My family became homeless. And my sister was lost. I lost my

family, my dreams because of a disaster, an earthquake.

A report on Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet is a love story. It is set in the past, in Italy. Its main characters

are Romeo and Juliet and their parents.

The story opens with Juliet, a beautiful girl when meeting her man of dreams

Romeo. Their first meeting took

place on a big boat of love, named

The Titanic. When Romeo saw

Juliet, he believed that she was his

princess and Juliet shared with him

the same feelings. The couple spent

great days on that love boat but

their happiness didn’t last because

their parents and the society in

which they lived refused their

relationship. They thought that it was an unusual relationship, which made

Juliet feel disappointed and forced her to jump into the sea and commit

suicide. As a result, Romeo cried and he felt sad because he thought that he

was guilty for the death of Juliet.

This story bewitched me. I think it’s a great story that teaches us about love

and its importance in our life. Parts of the book are funny and sad. I certainly

recommend this story to everybody.

The internet: a Blessing or a curse?

In the beginning of the 20th century, the internet was invented. This means

of communication has made a revolution in different areas. Some people agree

that it has many benefits while others disagree with the latter idea.

On the one hand, people, who say that the internet has many

disadvantages, state many reasons. First, they say that it’s a waste of time

because children and adults sit for much time in front of the net and forget

their duties. Second, statistics show that the internet leads to poor school

results and bad behavior. Third, through the net, some illegal behavior

becomes common in society such as stealing. Fourth, if someone surfs the net

whenever and wherever he wants, he can never have a social life and can

become addicted to the internet. So these are the

main dangers that the internet causes.

On the other hand, we cannot cover up the good

things that the internet can give to us. First, through

the internet, we can entertain ourselves. In addition, the internet helps us to

download information. Second, thanks to the internet, we can do shopping,

pay bills and study. Besides, this type of media gives people the right of

speaking and showing the truth. Finally, we can communicate with people and

make new friends easily and also have relationships with people from other

countries.

To summarize, I think that life has become easier than before thanks to

the internet and we should take only the best things

offered by this technology and correct or leave the worst.

Dear Abrare,

I am writing this letter to advise you

on how to cope with exams. First,

you should concentrate with

the teacher when she explains the

lesson. You shouldn’t revise

your lesson at the last minute. You

had better get a good night’s sleep

the night before the exam so that

your mind is fresh. Second, you must

keep calm in the exam and there’s no need to panic. Also, work out how much

time you need to spend on each section. Third, you mustn’t waste time on one

question. If you can’t do something, leave it and come back to it later. Finally,

you ought to use all the time that you have available in the exam. If you finish

early, go back and check everything even the questions you find very easy. I

hope that you like my pieces of advice. I wish you have good results in all the

exams.

Yours Besma

An article on the advantages of work for mothers

For millennia, women have stayed at home cooking, cleaning and taking

care of children. But, now, and with the change of life, women see that they

have to work and help men. Yet, some people think that a woman’s natural

place is at home and believe that the work of the mother has many

disadvantages.

I personally think that the point of view of these individuals is wrong. The

work of mothers has many advantages. First, the working mother comes into

contact with famous and important people in the work place and in society in

general. Second, she gets money and can

build a good future for herself and for

her children. Also, she can help her

husband and her family. Third, the

working mother has a role in society and

helps in the success of the economy.

Finally the mother can work and take

care of her family when her husband

helps her.

Work is the most important thing. It makes the individual more important

in society. So people shouldn’t deprive women from their right because they

are equal to men and they can work like them.

A personal diary

I woke up early and went to the

supermarket. I felt happy. Yet,

there, I saw some people stealing

the supermarket. I felt scared. I

took my phone and I called the

police but at the end of the call

the leader of the gang saw me

and beat me. At last, the police

arrived and took the gang. I was

taken to hospital and went home. The day was very bad.

I will be heard

You look at me and call me obsessed

Simply because of the way I am dressed

You don’t know me for what’s inside

You judge the clothing I wear with pride

My body is not for your eyes to hold

You must speak to my mind not to my

feminine mold

I’m an individual; I’m no man’s slave

It’s Allah’s pleasure that I only crave

I have a voice so I will be heard

For in my heart I carry His word

Men and women: equal or not?

Women and men are two important parts of life. Yet, there is no agreement on

whether they are treated equally or not.

On the one hand, there is no gender equality in Tunisia but there is gender

discrimination. Women and men are unequal due to many reasons. For

example, only women do the housework and only men are allowed to do

whatever they want and to go wherever they want. Also, only women raise

children. Women and men are unequal not only in society but inside the family

also. For example, men eat better food than women and are given more pocket

money and we cannot forget the other problems that women face. For

example, women suffer from violence and oppression. They can’t express

themselves freely.

On the other hand, there is

equality between men and women.

For example, they are equal in

education and work and they

have the right of voting. Also law

protects both men and women.

All things considered, there

is equality between men and

women in Tunisia. Women in our country are lucky compared to other Arab

countries.

Save the environment

The environment is very important in our life because without it, we can’t

live and we can’t eat or drink. Without the environment, we are nothing.

Saving this blessing makes us feel happy because saving the environment is

saving ourselves.

We can save this blessing through many ways. First, we should plant trees

in the forest to make our country look good and to give us clean air. Second, we

should use the bicycles instead of cars

to keep the air clean. Third, we

should stop smoking because it is

very dangerous for our health and for

the health of others, especially kids.

Fourth, we should build

conservation areas to save animals

from the huntsmen. Finally, we

should put factories in the desert away

from people to save our health.

Saving the environment will make our future better than now. It will save

the future of our children.

Dear Sir,

I’m writing this letter to tell you how to save

the environment and what the dangers your factory is causing to it. Because

the environment is very important in our life, I advise you to protect it. First,

you should put your factory in the desert. I know that you are a business man

and you have many factories. For this, I am telling you to put them in the desert

because they can cause many problems. They can cause air pollution and water

scarcity. In addition, the gases of these factories can also cause diseases.

Besides, they cause many illnesses to the

people.

Now Sir, I will tell you the ways of saving

the environment and I will give you the

solutions to all these problems. First, you

should recycle plastic bags and bottles.

Second, you ought to reduce the production of gases in order to save the ozone

layer. After that, you had better avoid throwing waste, litter and garbage.

Finally, Sir, don’t forget to decrease using the car. You can walk when you’re

going to a close place and you should use the car only when you are obliged

because cars can cause air pollution.

At the end, I can tell you only good bye Sir. I hope that you pay attention to and

be careful about the dangers of the environment.

Faithfully yours,

Amal Hammadi

I really miss you

Please leave me. Don’t make me cry

I don’t need your love. I say good bye.

I want to forget you, but what can I do

I really miss you

I miss your smile. I think of you from time to

time.

I see you in my dreams. I get up and

remember our memories

I remember you words “we will live forever

and change the world”

I really miss you

I see couples in my way. I think of our first

meeting

Life is so sad because my heart is broken

The birds fly in the sky but they have stopped

singing

The sun wakes up every day but it has stopped rising

I really miss you

I can’t forget you Rahma, Amina
