The Al Habtoor Leighton Group was formed in 2007 following the merger of the UAE’s premier building contractor, Al Habtoor Engineering with Gulf Leighton, the Leighton Group’s original operating company in the Gulf region. The Leighton Group is Australia’s largest project development and contracting group.

Al Habtoor Engineering’s extensive track record in large-scale building projects complemented Leighton’s expertise in large-scale civil infrastructure projects.

Al Habtoor ISG

Al Habtoor ISG provides a complete interior design and fit-out service, from the first concept to the final key going in the door. The company’s highly skilled workforce provides customised interior fit-out services, joinery production and installation, and project management.

Al Habtoor ISG is a joint venture between the Al Habtoor Leighton Group and London-based ISG. Al Habtoor ISG has successfully completed projects, including Dubai’s Grand Millennium Hotel and the VVIP Lounge at Dubai International Airport.

Al Habtoor STFA Soil Group

HSSG is a joint venture between Al Habtoor Engineering and STFA Construction Group, one of Turkey’s oldest and most respected construction firms. HSSG offers a comprehensive range of foundation engineering services for large-scale projects throughout the region, including shoring, dewatering, excavation, and piling.

Al Habtoor Specon

Al Habtoor Specon is a joint venture between Al Habtoor Engineering and Specialist Construction (Specon Ltd), a mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contracting firm. Al Habtoor Specon is a market leader in providing turnkey MEP services for hotels, airports, hospitals, residential and commercial towers and sports facilities.


Al Habtoor Leighton Steel

Al Habtoor Leighton Steel was formed in 1973 and is now one of the largest and most technologically advanced steel fabrication operations in the MENA region.

It manages steel design, fabrication, and erection for the Group’s key market sectors including building, civil infrastructure and offshore oil and gas projects. The business has successfully completed projects including the Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates – Ski Dubai, and Dubai International Airport’s Mega Cargo Terminal.

Thiess Services Middle East

Thiess Services Middle East is a joint venture between the Al Habtoor Leighton Group and Thiess Services, one of Australia’s most versatile, innovative and diverse environmental service companies.

The company performs a wide range of environmental and utility services, from contaminated site remediation and solid and hazardous waste management, to facilities management and industrial maintenance.


Al Habtoor ATCO

Al Habtoor ATCO constructs remote housing accommodation in the form of re-locatable modular buildings that are used for housing staff, offices, kitchens, ancillary buildings and all on-site services. The company is a joint venture between Al Habtoor and Canada’s ATCO Structures, which has over 60 years’ experience in providing modular building solutions across the globe.

Al Habtoor ATCO’s buildings are designed to minimise energy use and are constructed from 90 per cent recycled materials. Al Habtoor ATCO projects include the 20,000-man construction village on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi.

Leighton Offshore

Al Habtoor Leighton Group’s offshore oil and gas expertise is provided through Leighton Offshore.

Leighton Offshore’s focus is on the nearshore and shallow water segments and its experience covers a range of locations, from India’s Mumbai High field, to Singapore’s busy harbour area, offshore Sudan and the Black Sea.

Its fleet of modern, purpose-built pipe-lay barges and construction support vessels are specifically designed for the segments we work in, providing clients with confidence and surety for the safe and timely completion of their projects.

We own an extensive array of equipment to support our operations including pipe-laying barges, crane barges, support vessels, 300 metric tonne linear winches, piling equipment for driven and reverse circulation drilled and grouted piles, and reel drive bases for flexible pipe-laying.

Leighton Offshore’s extensive offshore oil and gas capabilities include:

Employees are experienced, registered operators of this equipment and provide local staff training where necessary. Equipment can be moved around the region as required, accompanied by the appropriate skilled operators.

Health and Safety

Occupational health and safety is a priority for the Group, and its strong safety record is a key competitive advantage. The Group is committed to providing a safe, healthy and positive working environment for its employees and those under its care.

It aims to eliminate all class-one accidents (an accident that results in fatality or permanently alters a person’s life) and to minimise, and ultimately eliminate, all lost-time accidents on sites.

Safety management committees undertake monthly safety audits of every project, to ensure their compliance with the safety policy and international certification OHSAS18001:2007 for the Group’s occupational health and safety system.
