The National Security Council (NSC)
defines Philippine national security as
“a state of condition where our most
cherished values and beliefs, our
democratic way of life, our institutions of
governance and our unity, welfare and
well-being as a nation and people are
permanently protected and continuously
enhanced.”

The West Philippine Sea: ●The multilateral dispute over the Spratly’s Island (KIG) is a source of intermittent tensions due to the build-up of suspected military structure by some claimant countries in the area.
●There have been clear encroachments into the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) requiring multilateral and bilateral diplomatic measures.
