Research at AI is oriented towards the sustainable development o the region, strengthening the knowledge,

development and business capacity o the region, and supporting communities and their economic develop-

ment and integration into the global economy. In addition to the 2000 students carrying out research projects

supervised by over 200 highly qualied and experienced aculty advisors, currently there are 270 sponsored

research projects in progress staed by 1,000 research and support personnel rom 30 countries.

Maintaining a societal perspective on science, researchers at AI produce knowledge or practical applicationwith high relevance, utility and economic impacts. Research and education are managed to satisy the needs

Training and Advisory Services or the Capacity Enhancement o Ho Chi Minh City Finance and Invest-

ment Company and Project Owners Financed under the French Development Agencys (AFD) Credit

Facility (HCE1). HCE1 is one o the three parts o the project echnical Assistance or the capacity en-

hancement o HFIC and project owners nanced under AFDs credit line, unded by AFD through a 1.5million euros, non-reundable aid to the Vietnam government.

Capacity Building or Sustainable Development in Vietnam and the Region

Working towards the sustainalbe development o Vietnam and its integration into the global economy is

core to AIs operation in the country. Building capacity and raising awareness o organizations, groups,

and individuals is essential to achieve this goal. Utilizing our capacity in reserach, higher education, and

consulting in Asia since 1959, as well as our 20 years o experience in Vietnam, AI, in close collabora-tion with our partners worldwide, has been working as the capacity building arm and a hub or network-

student body and 130-member aculty. More than 17,000 alumni rom over 80
