The School of Environment, Resourc-es and Development is one of the top destinations in Asia for the study of sus-tainable development, and resources and environment. Its key strength is that it responds to regional needs by mobilizing

and enhancing capabili-ties for socially, economi-cally and environmentally sound development.

High in the Himalayas, AIT researchers moni-tor glacial lake outbursts by applying ubiquitous geo-informatics and sensor technologies. The researchers study the possibility of floods owing to melting glaciers to provide warning to people living in at-risk rural communities.

One of the happiest moments of my life was when I got a scholarship from HEC Pakistan to study at AIT. ADMISSIONS CALENDARThe AIT academic year consists of two semesters: January and August. While most students are admitted in August, for flexibility students can be admitted into certain fields in January. Doctoral stu-dents may enter either in January or August semester.

Financial AssistanceAIT offers scholarships on a competitive basis to highly qualified graduate students with demon-strated financial need. Of the students admitted to AIT, about 20% get full scholarships, 30% get full tuition financial aid, and 40% receive financial aid that partly covers tuition costs. The full scholar-ships cover tuition fees, a monthly allowance and a standard accommodation on campus.

Costs and ExpensesStudents in full-time attendance pay a registration fee of Baht 20,000 per semester and a tuition fee of Baht 14,000 per credit. The tuition fees are based on the following minimum credit requirements and number of semesters: Doctoral (84 credits /6 semesters), Master’s (48 credits / 4 semesters), Diploma (24 credits / 2 semesters), and Certificate (9 - 12 credits / 1 semester). All students are encouraged to reside on or near the Institute’s campus to benefit from the international environment for intellectual development and cross-cultural experience. The estimated living expense is Baht 11,500 per month.
