The American International School Chennai (AISC) is a dynamic, mission-oriented, Pre-K-12 school serving approximately 900 international students and their families from across the globe. At AISC, we strive to provide authentic and relevant academic and co-curricular programs which meet the needs of each student. Our Director of Teaching and Learning (DTL) is the learning and academic program leader of the School. S/he is responsible for the on-going improvement of the school in optimizing the learning of all students. The DTL provides leadership and management necessary to facilitate the fulfillment of the Mission, the practicing of our Core Values, the engagement of our Student Learning Objectives, and the development of a holistic teaching and learning program relevant to the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. The Director of Teaching and Learning oversees instructional innovation, curriculum development, professional learning, academic program development, student assessment and measurement, student support services, EAL, and service learning. Minimum preferred experiences include:
M.A./M.Ed./M.Sc. or equivalent Advanced Degree At least three years of school administrative experience. Strong background in backward design unit planning, inquiry- and standards-based
education, differentiated and personalized systems of teaching and learning, service learning, EAL, and AP and IB programs, and/or willingness to learn.
