1) Select System Preferences from the Apple icon.
2) Select Printers & Scanners.

1) Click Printers & Scanners and select the printer from the left pane.
Click Scan tab and click Open Scanner.
2) The Scanner configuration page opens.

3) Select Document Feeder from Scan Mode.

4) Set Kind, the type of Scan.

5) Set the Resolution .
6) Set the Size paper.

7) Set the location to save the file under Scan To].

8) Set the file Format from the dropdown.

9) Set the Image Correction if needed and click Scan.
10) The Scanner is warming up displays.

11) The Document scanning starts and displays on the left side.
12) The data scanned is saved in the folder selected for [Scan To:].
In this example, the Pictures folder is selected for [Scan To:].
Therefore, the scanned image is stored in the Pictures folder as shown.

1) Place the original on the platen. Select Flatbed from Scan Mode. Select Custom Size.
2) Select the type of Scan from the Kind dropdown. Color is
selected.

3) Select the Resolution from the dropdown.
4) Select the Scan to: dropdown to select the location you wish
to save the file to. Select Format to change the file type.
5) Select the Overview to preview the image.

6) The area previewed is the max area on the platen when Use Custom Size is Selected.

7) After the image overview scanning is completed, the user can specify the area and scan the
image of specified area again and save it.

5) Specify the entire Document or;
6) Specify the area to rescan and click Scan.

7) The area specified is scanned and saved to the send to location selected.
8) Result of the image that was saved after specifying the area, (Use Custom Size Checked).

9) When Use Custom Size checkbox is unchecked, the user has to
specify the paper size being scanned from the Size Dropdown.

How to Send a FAX of a Scan.jpg file saved in the Pictures Folder.
1) First, open the File in AirPrint you would like to Fax.
Select File and select Print.
2) The Printing preferences dialog appears. Select Model with Fax next to it.

3) Select Fax Information from the drop down.
4) Enter the destination (Telephone Number) into the To: box.

5) Click FAX.
6) The data is sent to the device selected, which supports FAX functionality. The Device
automatically connects and transmits the data to the Fax Number you input.
