Kharkiv Airport was launched on 6, December 1932. In 1936 Kharkiv airport was acknowledged as the best airport in USSR.
The terminal that now handles VIP passengers was constructed in 1954. During soviet times this was the only airport terminal annually serving up to 2 mln passengers.
The airport hosts the first Routes CIS. The President of Ukraine, mr. Yanukovich opens the new passenger terminal.
