aimswebPlus Assessment Matrix
aimsweb™Plus provides more than benchmarking and progress monitoring for PreK-12 foundational reading and math skills. It also offers the capability to screen for dyslexia and some of the underlying factors that can contribute to behavior issues. The flexibility of aimswebPlus enables your school to quickly identify at-risk students, monitor and report student progress, and predict performance on grade-level expectations — all within one platform!
This guide provides an at-a-glance view of the measures in each of the four aimswebPlus assessment domains: Early Literacy, Reading, Early Numeracy, and Math.

The table indicates what measures may be used for benchmarking for each grade level and benchmark period (Fall, Winter, Spring). Monitoring measures can be used at any grade level and at any time.
For untimed measures: Indicates the average completion time based on normative data.
For timed measures: Indicates how long the system will allow students to respond to the task.
Digital Record Form (DRF): Early Literacy and Early Numeracy (Grades PreK–1)1 measures and the Oral Reading Fluency measure (Grades 1–12)1 are delivered to students in one-on-one sessions with an examiner. Students view printed/digital materials and provide an answer. Examiners score students’ responses on an electronic scoring form (Digital Record Form) in the aimswebPlus account.
Online Assessments: Grades 2–121 aimswebPlus measures (except for Oral Reading Fluency) are delivered to students through TestNav. Each student will have unique login credentials (username and password) to access examiner-assigned measures in the Reading or Math domains. These measures may be group administered.
Paper/Pencil: Students write/mark their answer on the test form. Examiners hand score the measure and enter the total score and/or errors into the aimswebPlus system. These measures may be group administered.
1Kindergarden content and norms may be used in preschool. 8th grade content and norms may be used in grades 9–12.
