Message from the MCPe I’d like to welcome you to the generation of AIESEC in the United States that will establish this entity as a global leader. An innovative generation that will

set the pace for the international development of this organization. A generation that will establish AIESEC in the United States first 3 year plan. A

generation that will see our highest future potential and bring that to AIESEC in the United States. A generation that will demand purpose in our products

and will use the national demand of our students to drive the global supply of traineeships A generation that is truly making an impact on our communities

and our world. This is a promise that I made to you, the national plenary of AIESEC in the

United States, and I will deliver on this promise. But I will not deliver it alone, I will deliver it with each and every one of you. Today begins the process of

recruiting a team of 11 others to help make this future the reality for AIESEC in the United States. And it is on this note that I would like to announce the

release of AIESEC in the United States Member Committee 2015-16 Applications!

AIESEC in the United States AIESEC US is a 501c3 registered not-for-profit organization in the United States. Being a registered not-for-profit, we have a Board of Directors, responsible for the financial and legal well-being of the organization. Our Board of Directors consists of successful CEOs, entrepreneurs, senior-level executives, and alumni who provide guidance to the organization. Organizational Purpose & LC Composition: At the summer national conference 2014, AIESEC in the United States created its’ Manifesto which outlines organizational purpose and future direction of the organization. This can be referenced here (bit.ly/AIESECUSManifesto). For more information about our LCs and Regional composition refer to the following document (bit.ly/AIESESUSinfo) Role of the MC: The AIESEC US MC team exists to support the LCs in running successful operations, to manage and oversee all legal & financial operations, and to ensure the sustainability of AIESEC US & its position in the international association of AIESEC. Position Logistics: • Term Duration: June 1st, 2015 –June 30th, 2016 (including one and half month of transition in 2015). • Hours: The US MC is a full time commitment, being approximately 40 -50 hours of work per week. Current

office hours are 10 AM –6 PM with weekends off except during LC visits, international/national/regional conferences, and during planning periods when office hours are usually extended and may include weekends.

• Working conditions: The US MC office is in downtown Manhattan in New York City. Each MC member is provided with a desk, computer, access to a phone, and other equipment necessary to fulfill the role.

• Salary: All roles will be salaried and the salary will cover all living expenses in New York City. Salaries are $30,000 USD (before taxes) and all roles also receive health insurance.

• Travel: All travel connected with MC members roles (during their term) is paid for by AIESEC US subject to approval by the MCP.

Note: This is not the final structure of the MC team 14-15 as this will be decided upon by the MCPe along with the selection of the MC team, findings during and post selection process, and input from the board of directors. The proposed MC structure has no implications for the local realities as of now, as the main idea behind the change is to define the strategic direction for the MC in the upcoming term.

AIESEC understanding • Candidates must have extensive knowledge and broad experience

in the AIESEC Association. Candidates should have an understanding of all functional areas and possess excellent knowledge and understanding of global and national strategies as well as organizational development.

Awareness of the social and business environment • Candidates must have knowledge of current trends in leadership

and management in addition to knowledge and interest in issues affecting the world.

Academic knowledge • There is no academic pre-requisite for being on the MC, however

some candidates may have gained valuable knowledge from their courses that will assist them in executing their duties.

Responsibilities after Selection • The start date for these positions is June 1st, 2015, although most positions may be asked to

begin transition earlier either physically or virtually. All members of the MC are expected to relocate and live in New York City during the duration of the term.

• The MC-elect team should attend the National Presidents Meeting in April if logistically and financially feasible. The dates are April 10-12, 2015 in Washington D.C.

• Transition for each position will begin in May 2015. All MC-elects must be available to continue their employment until June 30th, 2016.

have been LCP, NST, or MC may apply.

Selection & Process What is the application process? • In order to apply, you must submit an application in the form of a single PDF. The application

by email to [email protected] as well as being submitted here: bit.ly/USMCAppSubmitionlink

The file must include all of the following parts: 1.A 1 page CV/resume. 2.A 1 page biography including a URL link to a maximum of a 3 minute video introducing yourself to AIESEC US and your motivation for applying. The video should be uploaded to Youtube. Please do not send the video file. 3.A 1 page year plan (MC term) for the function you are applying to. 4.The answers to the questionnaires in the sections relevant to the role(s) you are applying for (Not more than a total of 10 A4 size pages and a minimum of font size 12). 5.Answer to the blank paper challenge. 6.One letter of endorsement from your LC if you are a US applicant or from your MC if you are an international applicant. 7.One letter of endorsement from any other AIESEC entity or alumnus. 8.One letter of endorsement from an AIESEC partner/client or external you have worked/ interacted with (This is required only for the following roles: VP ER, VP UR, VP BD and VP AD). All parts must be in .pdfform. You may use this document for your application, or you may redesign the application if you wish. Be as creative as you would like with your application. After applications are submitted they will be reviewed by the MCPe and a first round of elimination will take place based on application content. The remaining applications will be released to AIESEC US’ LCPs, who will cast a vote of confidence for each application. Any applications that do not receive 2/3 of the LCPs’ votes will be discarded. Remaining applicants will be given interviews in the first two weeks of February. First round selections will be made around Feb 22nd. This timeline is not final.
