Our Portfolio Company History

2010 Spin-out from the precedingcompany by today's CEO GeroFerges, system update andimprovements

1. July 2016 Approval for stock trading at the stock exchange Frankfurt am Main –Entry Standard

2014 Acquiring of a Dutch shellcompany, rebranding to A.H.T.Syngas Technology N.V.

TOMORROW:Positioning as EPC

2006 The first commercial large-scalepower plants are sold world-wide

2000 Improving market conditionsdue to German and EuropeanRenewable Energy Sources Acts

1997 The Engineering DynastyFerges and entrepreneur McDevittfound A.H.T. and improve theoriginal KHD twin-fire technology

1963 Already approx. 15,000 gasgeneration plants are delivered byKHD

1945 Approx. 1 million vehiclesoperate on wood gas

1963 Foundation of KHD asDeutz AG by N.A. Otto

1867 N.A. Otto builds the first gas-driven combustion engine

Fossil fuels

dominate the

world market

Our Portfolio - Technology History

Direct descent from NikolausOtto, inventor of the gas Otto-Motor (1867)

Founder of "Gasmotoren-Fabrik Deutz AG", which laterbecame the famous German“Klöckner-Humboldt Deutz(KHD)” company with a largeportfolio in the fields ofengines, special purposemachines, utility vehicles – andgas generation plants

Our Heritage - looking back on more than 15,000 world-wide installations

Supply issues for fossil oil andgas for emergingindustrialisation and mobility inearly 20th century

KHD developed into a world-wide supplier for coal andbiomass gas generators all overthe world

Wide abundance of oil and gasfrom beginning 1950ies letdecrease the interest ingasification

Oil crises in the 1980ies andgrowing environmental aware-ness led to an increasinginterest for power generationfrom coal and biomass gas

Reactivation of the ingeniousKHD twin-fire gas generation byan American Investor and theformer KHD gasifier technologydepartment leader

Foundation of A.H.T. SyngasTechnology N.V. – adaption ofthe core technology tonowadays’ requirementstowards clean and gas, powerand heat solutions for theworld.

Our Portfolio - Core Technology

The twin-fire gasification principle

Two oxidation zones in the upper and lower part of thegasifier

Combination of updraft and downdraft gas productionprocess

Basis for a clean process gas already with the production ofthe gas.

Cracking undesirable tar and other pollutants in a hightemperature zone, generating a clean synthetic gas.

Combining the advantages of typical up- OR downdraftgasifiers in an up AND downdraft gasification process:

Avoiding disadvantages of updraft gasification:

High tar content, low ash content

Avoiding disadvantages of downdraft gasification:

Low tar content, high ash content

Low tar and low ash content already during the synthesisgas generation

Our Portfolio - Core Technology

Gas Conditioning

The synthesis gas generated in the gasifier contains smalleramounts of ash and tar as long-chain hydro carbons ingaseous form saturated in the gas

Ultra-fine and more coarse particles are isolated by thecyclone, gas scrubber and electro-filter unit

Remaining heavy and volatile particles (tar, sulphurcompounds, compounds and heavy metal compoundsremain in the flotate

After conditioning, the synthesis gas contains almost nosolids, particle size less than 1 µm.

Temperature of the syngas after the gas-conditioning isbelow the water-absorption point, so that water cannotcondensate

The gas-cleaning process ensures a closed circulation, sothat no ecologically damaging substances are released andare not able to cause environmental pollution.
